my experience when i found out i was HIV+

My options r very limited once i found i was positive!
I went down 2 Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) months ago i got a job with the airline- Etihad (3yrs contract)...
the routine there was 2 do a full health examination...know wat my blood screwed up!
I didnt know i was poz..i didnt know i even had dat?!
i was completely shocked n taken back....I wanted 2 cry..but i dunno wat 2 do...the only person i was with was my ex from Malaysia who is now 39...he knew he was poz (6yrs bak) but he hid it from me!
Not only dat, the health department took me out of my training class (during training) without informing me ..wats wrong...took me to this General Hospital in Abu Dhabi!
The driver (pr from my company refused to tell me wats wrong)..he asked me to wait ...i was taken to an office in the hospital..sitting there watching him speaking in their language (arab...i didnt understand a word!) to the guy in the office...
i jus sat there clueless..waited..about 20 minutes...then came this guy in uniform (police/security) with HANDCUFFS ,n cuffed me...i asked him wats wrong?! he cudnt speak or explain 2me anything?! i was scared to death...i nvr done anything criminal in my life yet i was being treated worse than anything!
Can u imagine me all alone in a foreign country..no one understands/speaks ur language at all?!...wat wud u do...?
the security guy pulled me in the public right there in the hospital..where everyone was watching me as if im a murderer or sumthing! i wanted to die then...i was scared...was in brink of tears...i kept asking him why...
he jus yelled "Its procedure!"...
i was taken into this van that drove me into "mental ward" more like a jail (they had security..a metal door prety tight with spiked walls around)
...i was told by the nurse(pakistani) down there i had problem with my blood n im poz!
i told her its not possible...n why are they detaining me like this...its not right!
I didnt hav a clue..i told her..it wasnt poz b4...coz i did a check up b4 abt 5 months b4!
She jus said...but now ur poz..get changed into this clothes (were patients attire..in blue)
i was cuffed later on my feet...again i refused but they forced on me anyway...the nurse told me.. just to do it as they say or they will send u in a real jail far worse than this..quote"this is KANUN (law in Abu Dhabi)!"
I started to cry......
i felt miserable! i thought i was in HELL!
its worse to know ur poz...plus this treatment just went overboard for me...
all my stuff from my hotel was brought over by my company the day after...i cudnt eat anything there..there were other patients "prisoners" who might hav been there for weeks even from all over the place...India,Pakistan,South Africa,Phillippines,Bangladesh...etc...i didnt really speak to anyone...i was depressed..very down...i dint sleep...didnt like the way i was feeling being treated as if i was a dog tied up...waiting to be deported!
It was a long wait for me..very long very painful..awful experience in my life..it really hit me hard...i was getting depressed as days went by in there!

I didn't know why they took 24 days to deport me back to Malaysia!
My PR from my company (Etihad had handed over (to the officials in charge to deport me) my passport/ticket home after a day me being there!)
I heard they(the officials in charge to my PR) insisted to give them an open ticket!

I kept asking the nurse(the only person who actually speaks decent English) "when will i go back home?"
I dont need to be locked up here like this...i dont like it here..i didnt eat..didnt like the food (terrible)...
I had to share the toilet with 5 more patients in my cabin.

it was always scorching hot there about 47 degrees everyday...the only time i took my cuffs off was wen i wanted to take a shower(routine set time for shower from 9am-4/5pm only)..i had to walk all the way to the security office..get the keys from them..open my cuffs by myself...shower n get them on n stay in the cabin it was deplorable..til i fall asleep..it went like this for days!

It was really hurtful to see myself like that...i nvr did anything wrong in my life, but i was getting treated like this! i cried to sleep almost every night....

the situation in there wasnt really pleasant either the security were very rude..treated as if we are "outcasts" lepors...with deadly disease..not all of them had problem with their blood ...some of them might had chest/other cronic disease...

i went throght all that, when the day i was about to be deported...they came in a "security van"caged like! came to pick me up from the "JAIL"...i learnt that my flight was at late night about 3am local time! but then the "CID" came n picked me up at 6pm...
arriving there lookin like a criminal with my luggage the CID checked me through the other counter (not for passangers) more like deportees n stuff (baggage)...then he took me through an eye test/ n stamped my passport...as departure...he held my passport all the way!
As there was still time for me to aboard the flight, he took me to this cell under the airport( lower ground floor...where they locked this illegal immigrants...n stuff...it was scarry!)
he handed me over to this officer (my passport n tickets) then i was locked in the cell..he said i will b released when my time to leave was up...
i was there like for hours looking left n right there was creepy looking thugs look alikes...i didnt spoke a word/ sat in a corner..begging the time will come soon...so i cud leave from the "hell" as soon as possible!
jus about 30 minutes b4 my flight i was escorted with this airport security officer (who held my passport n tix) to the departure gate!
I was embarrased kinda looked down upon when i was treated like that coz i still remember the look upon the other passangers/ ground staff ...it was pleasant...I just wanted it to end!

i stepped thru the gates into my flight...i was relieved in a way...but still m haunted with the whole experience until now!

I confronted my ex...when i reached..i cried my eyes out (was sick for days)..then he told me the whole truth...he knew he was HIV+ about 6 yrs ago! he got it from his ex(who is caucasian professional living in M'sia for more than 10 yrs) I still hate him for that! I have this bitterness n anger in me that i cant get rid off!
I dunno why?!
I asked myself...why me?! do i deserve all this?! I believed in god as being a Christian, i was pretty spiritual...i blamed myself for being gay..maybe this is some kinda punishment for being gay?!

I saw my paths/road for the future go narrower than ever! I am crushed...felt like my world just fell apart into million of pieces...

I cant pursue my degree in nursing anymore (3rd year to go) was doin it in Australia, Adelaide (flinders)
looks like my options are limited...i dunno whether i will ever have any1 to love me n accept me as I am HIV+ now..
I can't work/study abroad as most countries have medial check ups...n they dont allow a HIV+person enter to the country!
I havent told my family...coming "out" to them was a tragedy. itself!..they cudnt accept it...except for my mum..she's the only person i hav...
if she founds out about this i think...i think of the worse...i cant tell her...cant even tell my best friends...
Im afraid to lose it all...im afraid to be an outcast again excluded from the society...being looked upon as "pariah" :(
I developed distrust in people n love furthermore relationships!

this is the story when i found out i was HIV+ about a few months back...I browsed the web n found there are poz ppl chat/support groups...n decide to join in ere!

I went today to the local hiv clinic, to get results of my last blood draw. I've been feeling vaguley blah lately, and have been having a list of odd, not serious, issues. So today I was told that my cd4s are dangerously low and my viral load has jumped. OK...

But that goes against all the info that I'd previously been told. Like, oh- that my numbers looked good, my numbers don't move around much- that's what I've been hearing for the 4 years I've (periodically) been a patient there.

So of course, today I got the lecture about starting meds. I said no, being me, and explained that I'm not interested in them. I was asked why and cited deep personal beliefs. Asked just what those were, I basically said I'm more in tune with natural means of treatment. Meds maybe as a last resort, but not until I feel I've exhausted all other methods will I even CONSIDER them. And frankly, consider is about all I can imagine myself doing.
I've never known ANYONE on meds who hasn't had some really awful side-effects. Long-term. I'm not interested in that. Cuz heres' my major thang: I'm not afraid of death. But the idea of living for another 30 years chained to a chemical regimin and having side-effects the whole time does rather freak me out.

I'm trying to ensure a healhful quality of life. I just started yoga again after 3years away from it. I've been vegetarian for over 20 years, and eat predominantly organic. I don't smoke, drink or do drugs. So when I hear the "you must start meds" jargon, I feel like "Fuck that! I need to keep a better sleep/wake schedule, exercise more, watch my sugar, meditate, and stop listening to the fearspeak of others!"

I know I may seem a bit "agro" . But I hope that here, in this tribe, I might be heard and hear in return some words of direction.

I'd really like to find a clinic that I felt was open to treating me as a patient, not as an hiv+ patient. Cuz I'm getting older, and yeah, I have some health concerns. I just get so frustrated that all my info is seen throught that one, narrow hiv-infused lens.
I feel often frustrated at my own ignorance. Surely if I knew the right info, I could frame my questions more aptly , and receive answers to them. But then I realize, I'm uncommonly eloquent and have a larger than average vocabulary. Shoudn't that be enough to facillitate understanding?

My care provider today bespoke a cut off number of cd4s below which, if mine dip, meds are strongly recommended. But what about all the previous info on me? What about my body's natural fluctuations and rythyms? What life influences right now may be affecting the graph that a handful of pills doesn't address?

I'm not willing to buy into the standard ideology of hiv+aids. I've not seen that happening in my life. I do see that I am currently having some issues, and feel like I'm on the outside of the secret handshake.

I was told by my care provider today that some of what she's prescribing for me today (an oral swish and some anit-biotics) will only treat symptoms. Well that's fine, cuz symptoms are what I have. But of what exactly? She didn't even test me for anything! Just wanted me to start hiv meds... That's what's so maddening to me. She's a kind, compassionate woman, one who has my best interest at heart. But I have a very different idea of what that means.

Ironically, tomorrow is the local AIDSWalk. I've planned to go and meet a friend (potential date-boy) and support the local hiv community. But I feel very torn. Of course, I want to support and assist anyone who is in need. I've been in need myself, and know something of how scary it can be. (Not to mention financially ruinous.) But the flip side is, I know my presence also will support the standard hiv+aids model and it's pogroms. How do I proceed? Do I absent myself from the event, and potenitally keep assistance from someone who needs it? Cuz I don't want to take from someone else the right to decide different treatments for themselves than I'd choose for me...

So I feel rather in a quandry, here. Your opinions on it are welcomed gratefuly! Glad to know this tribe is here, and I'm not alone. Cuz honestly, my beloved companion of 12 1/2 years, my dog Daksha, died last week. And today, in light of the interaction I had this morning, I feel very, very alone...

I was surprised not to find any info on Matthew Grace on this tribe.
He was one of the first ones to open my eyes to some of the erroneous beliefs about disease. His book ultimately changed my life.
I would check out his book: A Way Out. He also has a number of lectures he has done on diseases, including AIDS.

A quarter of a century after the outbreak of Aids, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has accepted that the threat of a global heterosexual pandemic has disappeared.

In the first official admission that the universal prevention strategy promoted by the major Aids organisations may have been misdirected, Kevin de Cock, the head of the WHO's department of HIV/Aids said there will be no generalised epidemic of Aids in the heterosexual population outside Africa.

Dr De Cock, an epidemiologist who has spent much of his career leading the battle against the disease, said understanding of the threat posed by the virus had changed. Whereas once it was seen as a risk to populations everywhere, it was now recognised that, outside sub-Saharan Africa, it was confined to high-risk groups including men who have sex with men, injecting drug users, and sex workers and their clients.

Dr De Cock said: "It is very unlikely there will be a heterosexual epidemic in other countries. Ten years ago a lot of people were saying there would be a generalised epidemic in Asia – China was the big worry with its huge population. That doesn't look likely. But we have to be careful. As an epidemiologist it is better to describe what we can measure. There could be small outbreaks in some areas."

just think "what if there is no such thing as hiv or aids"

I do not beleive that hiv or aids exists. I beleive it is all a big sham so that the big biz pharma culture can make the big bucks. whatever you do don't go on the drugs ...they will kill you...hiv will not kill you...i am living proof that hiv does not exist. my boyfriend who i have been with for almost four years was diagnosed with hiv before we met ...we have never made love with a condom and I have never been diagnosed with hiv...this story is true as many other people have the same story...no i am not a genetic anomaly or have some sort of special antibodies....we all have antibodies and that is what they test you for - antibodies that are present in the blood....not a single hiv virus has ever been found in any of those tests on any one individual ...all they have ever found are the antibodies which are the things that protect us from all types of infection...there are a few sources that you may want to check out on this subject...a book called "What if Everything you thought you knew about Aids was Wrong" by Christine Maggiore and RAS Rethinking Aids Society online. If it is required that you need to do an hiv test for a job just make sure that you don't have a cold/ flu/ on medications have any other type of infection or are pregnant as all of these can cause a false + result, plus there are many other things that can cause a false + result if you check either of the above sources mentioned will have the list. If you ever test + go and get another test somewhere else and you can also go and get a anonymous test done as well to prove it wrong and sure enough I bet your results will be different the second time around at a different clinic. For those of you who are not able to devote all your time to meditation, there is nevertheless the possibility of engaging in practice in a serious way. For example, the students at the monastic universities in South India can, with some effort, do meditations during the prayers. When you recite the prayers, you can mentally do the contemplation. The lifestyle and daily routine at these monasteries have been structured by the great masters of the past in a way that is most conducive to individual practice as well as to the flourishing of the dharma.

If you find that your mind is in a very fluctuating emotional state--displaying anger, hatred, attachment and so forth--then you should first try to calm down that state of strong emotion. This should be done by first transforming it into a neutral state of mind, because there is no way that one can switch directly from a negative state of mind to a positive one. Therefore, you should first reduce the force of these emotions and fluctuations and try to bring about some sort of calmness, using any means--such as taking a stroll or concentrating on the inhalation and exhalation of the breath--that will enable you to forget what you are immediately feeling. This will help you to reduce the force of strong emotion, thereby giving you the calmness necessary for the practice of dharma. Like a white piece of cloth which could be dyed any color that you desire, such a neutral state of mind could then be transformed into a virtuous state of mind.

You could also engage in the preliminary practices of performing 100,000 prostrations, recitations of the Vajrasattva mantra, and so forth. When you undertake these practices, you should do them properly, not being only concerned about the number. Many great masters of the past of all traditions have emphasized the importance of these preliminary practices--they will enable you to have a very firm start. If through them you can acquire a fertile mind, then when the seed of meditation is planted, it will readily bear the fruits of realizations.

Having successfully neutralized the emotional fluctuations within your mind and having restored a reasonable degree of calmness, engage in the practice of taking refuge and generating the altruistic aspiration to attain full enlightenment. Taking refuge in the Three Jewels is the factor that distinguishes one's practice from that of an erroneous path, and the generation of the altruistic mind makes it superior to the paths aiming at individual liberation.

A New Gay Dating Site……with a twist

YES....you will see this post in my various tribes, so if you've seen it in another tribe you're a member of.........Don't Bitch. OKAY! And I say this in jest:-)

This gay dating site is unique in regards, to its approach, for its membership. Here’s the premise of the site, written and originated by the creator of the site:

“Welcome to Dissident Dating”

“Maybe you don't test for HIV or maybe you did and just don't trust the results. Maybe you've learned that AIDS is not caused by HIV, and that tests are inaccurate. Then you can meet like-minded people here, make friends, date, and...well, its up to you! On this site no one posts "status" because negative and positive are proven to be meaningless or at best misleading. Why not live and love!”

My Observation:

With all the fear and pandemonium about dating (these days) a person labeled ‘so-called’ hiv-antibody positive, this site doesn’t ask that you reveal your ‘status’ because the members are dissidents, and have accepted, not to accept, the fear based paradigm of hiv ‘antibodies’ being the cause of aids.

Definition of ‘Antibody’: any of numerous Y-shaped protein molecules produced by B cells as a primary immune defense, each molecule and its clones having a unique binding site that can combine with the complementary site of a foreign antigen, as on a virus or bacterium, thereby disabling the antigen and signaling other immune defenses.

So if you’ve been labeled hiv-antibody positive, or negative, or just don’t know, no one on the dating site will judge you about that. Just be prepared for a vast amount of mind-blowing (and boggling) knowledge from some of the members, you may come to know, on the site.

What I find interesting about the site, is it’s ability, to reach out to people, who, are taking a different stance and approach on dating, loving, meeting someone new, and being with someone who shares their views about the ‘Otherside’ of the hiv paradigm and model. And hey…you just might learn something new, and a thang-or-two, from a member, or so.

This is not a debate, or bitching, or mud-slinging site; that usually happens after you’re in a relationship. It’s a gay DATING site, with a majority of members who are interested in meeting and getting to know others, who question(s) the model we call hiv. Revealing your status (I would assume) – to another member – it entirely up to you and he, if you care to include it in your dialogue, but not required.

The site is new, so it will be a matter of time, when the membership continues to grow.
It is ‘not’ to assume that every member joining -- this site -- are considered as hiv antibody pos, because a lot of people aren’t, because they know enough and don’t believe hiv=aids, to be afraid of being with someone label as pos:

The Exchange will act as a watchdog group and help reform the private insurance market by creating rules and standards for participating insurance plans to ensure fairness and to make individual coverage more affordable and accessible. Insurers would have to issue every applicant a policy, and charge fair and stable premiums that will not depend upon health status. The Exchange will require that all the plans offered are at least as generous as the new public plan and have the same standards for quality and efficiency. The Exchange would evaluate plans and make the differences among the plans, including cost of services, public.
Employer Contribution: Employers that do not offer or make a meaningful contribution to the cost of quality health coverage for their employees will be required to contribute a percentage of payroll toward the costs of the national plan. Small employers that meet certain revenue thresholds will be exempt.
Mandatory Coverage of Children: Obama will require that all children have health care coverage. Obama will expand the number of options for young adults to get coverage, including allowing young people up to age 25 to continue coverage through their parents' plans.
Expansion Of Medicaid and SCHIP: Obama will expand eligibility for the Medicaid and SCHIP programs and ensure that these programs continue to serve their critical safety net function.
Flexibility for State Plans: Due to federal inaction, some states have taken the lead in health care reform. The Obama plan builds on these efforts and does not replace what states are doing. States can continue to experiment, provided they meet the minimum standards of the national plan.
Lower Costs by Modernizing The U.S. Health Care System
Reducing Costs of Catastrophic Illnesses for Employers and Their Employees: Catastrophic health expenditures account for a high percentage of medical expenses for private insurers. The Obama plan would reimburse employer health plans for a portion of the catastrophic costs they incur above a threshold if they guarantee such savings are used to reduce the cost of workers' premiums.
Helping Patients:
Support disease management programs. Seventy five percent of total health care dollars are spent on patients with one or more chronic conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure. Obama will require that providers that participate in the new public plan, Medicare or the Federal Employee Health Benefits Program (FEHBP) utilize proven disease management programs. This will improve quality of care, give doctors better information and lower costs.
Coordinate and integrate care. Over 133 million Americans have at least one chronic disease and these chronic conditions cost a staggering $1.7 trillion yearly. Obama will support implementation of programs and encourage team care that will improve coordination and integration of care of those with chronic conditions.
Require full transparency about quality and costs. Obama will require hospitals and providers to collect and publicly report measures of health care costs and quality, including data on preventable medical errors, nurse staffing ratios, hospital-acquired infections, and disparities in care. Health plans will also be required to disclose the percentage of premiums that go to patient care as opposed to administrative costs.
Ensuring Providers Deliver Quality Care:
Promote patient safety. Obama will require providers to report preventable medical errors and support hospital and physician practice improvement to prevent future occurrences.
Align incentives for excellence. Both public and private insurers tend to pay providers based on the volume of services provided, rather than the quality or effectiveness of care. Providers who see patients enrolled in the new public plan, the National Health Insurance Exchange, Medicare and FEHBP will be rewarded for achieving performance thresholds on outcome measures.
Comparative effectiveness research. Obama will establish an independent institute to guide reviews and research on comparative effectiveness, so that Americans and their doctors will have the accurate and objective information they need to make the best decisions for their health and well-being.
Tackle disparities in health care. Obama will tackle the root causes of health disparities by addressing differences in access to health coverage and promoting prevention and public health, both of which play a major role in addressing disparities. He will also challenge the medical system to eliminate inequities in health care through quality measurement and reporting, implementation of effective interventions such as patient navigation programs, and diversification of the health workforce.
Insurance reform. Obama will strengthen antitrust laws to prevent insurers from overcharging physicians for their malpractice insurance and will promote new models for addressing errors that improve patient safety, strengthen the doctor-patient relationship and reduce the need for malpractice suits.
Lowering Costs Through Investment in Electronic Health Information Technology Systems: Most medical records are still stored on paper, which makes it hard to coordinate care, measure quality or reduce medical errors and which costs twice as much as electronic claims. Obama will invest $10 billion a year over the next five years to move the U.S. health care system to broad adoption of standards-based electronic health information systems, including electronic health records, and will phase in requirements for full implementation of health IT. Obama will ensure that patients' privacy is protected.
Lowering Costs by Increasing Competition in the Insurance and Drug Markets: The insurance business today is dominated by a small group of large companies that has been gobbling up their rivals. There have been over 400 health care mergers in the last 10 years, and just two companies dominate a full third of the national market. These changes were supposed to make the industry more efficient, but instead premiums have skyrocketed by over 87 percent.
Barack Obama will prevent companies from abusing their monopoly power through unjustified price increases. His plan will force insurers to pay out a reasonable share of their premiums for patient care instead of keeping exorbitant amounts for profits and administration. His new National Health Exchange will help increase competition by insurers.
Lower prescription drug costs. The second-fastest growing type of health expenses is prescription drugs. Pharmaceutical companies are selling the exact same drugs in Europe and Canada but charging Americans more than double the price. Obama will allow Americans to buy their medicines from other developed countries if the drugs are safe and prices are lower outside the U.S. Obama will also repeal the ban that prevents the government from negotiating with drug companies, which could result in savings as high as $30 billion. Finally, Obama will work to increase the use of generic drugs in Medicare, Medicaid, and FEHBP and prohibit big name drug companies from keeping generics out of markets.
Fight for New Initiatives
Advance the Biomedical Research Field: As a result of biomedical research the prevention, early detection and treatment of diseases such as cancer and heart disease is better today than any other time in history. Barack Obama has consistently supported funding for the national institutes of health and the national science foundation. Obama strongly supports investments in biomedical research, as well as medical education and training in health-related fields, because it provides the foundation for new therapies and diagnostics. Obama has been a champion of research in cancer, mental health, health disparities, global health, women and children's health, and veterans' health. As president, Obama will strengthen funding for biomedical research, and better improve the efficiency of that research by improving coordination both within government and across government/private/non-profit partnerships. An Obama administration will ensure that we translate scientific progress into improved approaches to disease prevention, early detection and therapy that is available for all Americans.
Fight AIDS Worldwide. There are 40 million people across the planet infected with HIV/AIDS. As president, Obama will continue to be a global leader in the fight against AIDS. Obama believes in working across party lines to combat this epidemic and recently joined Senator Sam Brownback (R-KS) at a large California evangelical church to promote greater investment in the global AIDS battle.
Support Americans with Disabilities: As a former civil rights lawyer, Barack Obama knows firsthand the importance of strong protections for minority communities in our society. Obama is committed to strengthening and better enforcing the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) so that future generations of Americans with disabilities have equal rights and opportunities. Obama believes we must restore the original legislative intent of the ADA in the wake of court decisions that have restricted the interpretation of this landmark legislation.

Barack Obama is also committed to ensuring that disabled Americans receive Medicaid and Medicare benefits in a low-cost, effective and timely manner. Recognizing that many individuals with disabilities rely on Medicare, Obama worked with Senator Ken Salazar (D-CO) to urge the department of health and human services to provide clear and reliable information on the Medicare prescription drug benefit and to ensure that the Medicare recipients were protected from fraudulent claims by marketers and drug plan agents.
Improve Mental Health Care. Mental illness affects approximately one in five American families. The National Alliance on Mental Illness estimates that untreated mental illnesses cost the U.S. more than $100 billion per year. As president, Obama will support mental health parity so that coverage for serious mental illnesses are provided on the same terms and conditions as other illnesses and diseases.
Protect Our Children from Lead Poisoning. More than 430,000 American children have dangerously high levels of lead in their blood. Lead can cause irreversible brain damage, learning disabilities, behavioral problems, and, at very high levels, seizures, coma and death. As president, Obama will protect children from lead poisoning by requiring that child care facilities be lead-safe within five years.
Reduce Risks of Mercury Pollution. More than five million women of childbearing age have high levels of toxic mercury in their blood, and approximately 630,000 newborns are born at risk every year. Barack Obama has a plan to significantly reduce the amount of mercury that is deposited in oceans, lakes, and rivers, which in turn would reduce the amount of mercury in fish.
Support Americans with Autism. More than one million Americans have autism, a complex neurobiological condition that has a range of impacts on thinking, feeling, language, and the ability to relate to others. As diagnostic criteria broaden and awareness increases, more cases of autism have been recognized across the country. Barack Obama believes that we can do more to help autistic Americans and their families understand and live with autism. He has been a strong supporter of more than $1 billion in federal funding for autism research on the root causes and treatments, and he believes that we should increase funding for the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act to truly ensure that no child is left behind.

More than anything, autism remains a profound mystery with a broad spectrum of effects on autistic individuals, their families, loved ones, the community, and education and health care systems. Obama believes that the government and our communities should work together to provide a helping hand to autistic individuals and their families.

Verdict of $2.5 Million Over False-Positive HIV Diagnosis Brings up Basic Problems With AIDS Testing and Treatment, Say Scientists

CHICAGO, Dec. 12, 2007--A lawsuit decided today against the University of Massachusetts Medical Center over consequences of an allegedly false-positive HIV antibody test exposes basic problems with the test and treatments for all persons taking them, according to a high-ranking medical researcher who has advised the plaintiff's lawyer on the case. The verdict, issued today, awarded $2.5 million to the plaintiff.

The complaint by Audrey Serrano, 45, in court hearings this week in Worcester, Mass., focuses on the absence of a “confirmatory” Western Blot test in her records. However, Andrew Maniotis, Ph.D., research assistant professor in the Department of Pathology, University of Illinois-Chicago School of Medicine, contends that, though the reliability of all HIV testing is not on trial in court here, the case history opens questions about it. And, because Serrano developed illnesses commonly defined as “AIDS-related conditions” only after taking HIV medications known as “highly active antiretroviral therapy” (HAART), the drugs themselves appear to have caused “AIDS.”

Rethinking AIDS (RA) has been asking such questions since its founding in 1991. Etienne de Harven, M.D., president of RA, says, “It is urgent that we open a public debate on the highly suspect reliability of all HIV testing. Moreover, I fully share Dr. Maniotis' concern about the safety of HIV drugs.” Further resources are online at the group’s Web site, www.rethinkingaids.com.

Rodney Richards, Ph.D., worked on the development of antibody (ELISA) and genetic “viral load” tests for Amgen and holds some related patents. “The diagnosis of being HIV positive is based on arbitrary combinations of tests, none of which are approved for diagnosing HIV,” he says. “In fact there is no test for HIV. It’s just an illusion.”

Raising issues of informed consent for all persons submitting to HIV antibody testing, the test kits themselves contain disclaimers that doctors rarely, if ever, share with patients. For example, Abbott Laboratories’ ELISA test kit, typically used as a preliminary test, warns:

“ELISA testing alone cannot be used to diagnose AIDS.”

Confirmation of an ELISA result with a Western Blot test is currently required as a “standard of care.” Epitope’s Western Blot package insert reads:

“Do not use this kit as the sole basis for HIV infection.”

“This is somewhat more concerning, since the Western Blot is supposed to be a highly accurate test, used to confirm that an ELISA is not a false positive,” says Dr. Maniotis. “Moreover, the peer-reviewed literature gives substantial evidence that the virus ‘HIV’ has never been isolated in purified form free of contaminating cellular debris in order to generate the so-called ‘specific viral antigens’ used in the test kits.”

Serrano, now acknowledged to have always tested HIV negative and therefore not to have been at risk for developing AIDS, nevertheless suffered from several AIDS-defining illnesses, including wasting, herpes, and oral thrush, while taking HAART. She also suffered from other health problems, including constant diarrhea (AIDS-defining under the African definition), muscle wasting, profound fatigue, non-specific skin lesions, oral thrush, herpes outbreaks, severe nosebleeds, constant gynecological bleeding and pain from ovarian cysts, fibrocystic breast lesions, hyperplastic pituitary lesions, and severe heart and respiratory difficulties.

Labels for HAART drugs actually list these conditions as possible side effects, suggesting that the drugs themselves cause AIDS-related conditions, Maniotis says.

Serrano’s experience is, sadly, not unique. Dr. Maniotis chose to investigate her case because, he says, “it is typical of many cases reviewed and, as it illustrates so clearly the development of AIDS-related conditions in a woman testing HIV negative who was healthy before she took HAART, strongly suggests that profound paradigm shifts are urgently needed to avoid more human rights violations.”

A letter to Ron Paul on Scientific Integrity and Dissidence

Dear Mr. Hawes & Ron Paul

Firstly I want to say I truly appreciate the statement...
"Dissent is true Patriotism"

I have a fundamental question that affects millions of americans in many ways. And could very well rally another group of active individuals behind you.

My Question is in regards to HIV and AIDS... There are many qualified Scientists and Doctors who for years now have had many questions in regards to the current Hypothesis. They have much scientific evidence that questions the current mainstream idea and treatments. For me a knowlegable researcher it has logically caused me to question things also... The people are labelled Dissidents shut out of discussions and labelled as quacks. Despite thier credentials, thier previous backing on other subjects, and in many cases awards and notoriety, along with the amount of mounting evidence they hold. They have simply been calling for many years for a platform to open up debate on the subject. To no avail.

My feeling is if they are sooo wrong in thier questions the debate should be opened and be allowed to be explored. The fact that it is not allowed leaves me with the concern that maybe these other sides with billions of personal interests... medical, pharmacuetical, not to mention the legal ramifications... are refusing to allow it for fear they might just be proven wrong.

So I guess my question is...
What would Ron Paul do to ensure the integrity of science and medicine by allowing unconventional yet scientifically backed questions to be broached publicly and would he encourage them when thier are millions of lives at stake. Descrimination, Isolation, Manipulation, Toxic Drugs, Children are taken, etc etc. All by people who simply question the mainstream, and wish to have a choice in the risks they take with thier health. Even though the truth may not be as profitable as the accepted concept. And the fact that it may expose big mistakes on the part of the medical industry etc etc.

Its just so strange to me... because on the surface... immune disfunction in certain demographics and populations is not really worthy of being labelled a disease... as it is a by product... yes the fact that we are being poisoned from all kinds of directions (food/drugs/water) is a bit of an epedimic... but they keep discovering that people with HIV live longer and longer... and healthier lives... some are totally immune... never progress to aids... and the drugs are even called toxic and dangerous by the same doctors who prescribe them. Reputable scientists within the accepted hypothesis even admit that there are so many inconsistencies... and those that do die horribly seem to have many lifestyle factors involved in that particular reality...

So whats wrong with science that the questions that create major innovations and breakthroughs are no longer allowed or acceptable... particularly when they are not widely accepted by the financially based status quo.

You response will be greatly appreciated and I will be posting and forwarding this letter to many people who have similar concerns and questions. It would be a tremendous service to those caught up in the HIV/AIDS machine (a 300 billion dollar a year industry) to know that a simple debate on the subject would be encouraged and allowed... as they need some facts... and at the moment there are too many holes and inconsistencies.

A dog with a correct pH balance is less likely to be bothered by fleas, black flies, ticks, and other external parasites. Its regular use results in less chance of ringworm, staph infections, streptococcus, and mange. How Fauci solved AIDS

As we were saying, we welcome the Lasker prize which Dr Anthony Fauci of NIAID has won, because we already recognized a year ago the extraordinary contribution that the well tailored director of the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases had earlier made quietly to the final solution of the world wide AIDS panic, at a New School panel in June last year.

For some reason, perhaps personal modesty, Dr Fauci had not informed the general public previously of his breakthrough in understanding, but merely communicated it to the Proceedings of the National Academy and included it in a chapter on the Immunology of AIDS he wrote for the textbook “Fundamental Immunology”, edited by William E. Paul MD and published by Lippincott, Williams and Wilkins in 2003 (p. 1295):

What Fauci confirmed to the few graduate students and working scientists who perused this book was that the result of HIV arriving in the human body was to touch off and maintain proliferation of T-cells, rather than killing them off.

What happens is that for a 56 fold (5600 per cent) gain in HIV early on CD4 T-cells drop maybe 6% but CD8 T-cells rise 20 per cent. The net increase is there until drugs are provided, in which case this beneficial effect is wiped out. If the drugs are stopped, then the benefit is once again felt.

The total outcome is hidden in the complexity of the immune system - there are other major factors involved in the standard and rather misleading T-cell count, such as rate of production, redistribution, longevity of cells, level of apoptosis and activation induced cell death - but these trends are clear, Fauci pointed out:

“Several investigators have demonstrated that there is an increase in CD4+ T-cell proliferation in both HIV and SIV infection. In certain studies, the enhanced T-cell proliferation that was observed during active disease was significantly decreased following the initiation of anti-retroviral therapy, and proliferation increased again in parallel with plasma viremia following the cessation of treatment in these individuals.

Fauci’s reference is a paper by Lempicki R. A. et al. in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (97:13778-83, 2000). The Proceedings is the place where all those seriously interested in what is really going on in science should go, perhaps. It is after all, the place where Peter Duesberg’s definitive review and rejection of HIV as the cause of AIDS took place nearly two decades ago, a beautifully written and argued exposition with 200 footnoted references from mainstream literature which oddly enough has never been answered in the same journal, though the HIV=AIDS paradigm author Bob Gallo promised the editors he would do so.

Apparently Gallo preferred to do so from the safe bunker of the last chapters of Virus Hunting, his 1991 book three years later which was happily not subject to peer review, nor did it have to provide references, unlike Duesberg’s masterpiece, which was afterwards cited in Nobel prize winning biologist Walter Gilbert’s graduate class at Harvard as an exemplary paradigm challenge. But we digress, as usual for the benefit of newcomers to this issue.

Fauci explains what kills T cells

Returning to Dr Fauci’s brave and perspicacious statement drawing the attention of insiders to the efficacy of HIV in stimulating the immune system, and the negative impact of drugs, this seemed at such odds with the general assumption in HIV∫AIDS that HIV kills T-cells rather than adds to them, and that drugs are needed to defeat the virus at whatever cost, that when Dr Fauci and Mathilde Krim mounted the stage at the New School with Larry Kramer to celebrate 25 years of HIV∫AIDS a year ago June 19th, Robert Houston took the opportunity to ask Dr Fauci about it.

The question came as a rowdy audience of middle aged gays calmed down after upsetting Larry Kramer so much with their objections to him telling the representative of the New York Times that the Times didn’t cover the issue of HIV∫AIDS enough that he stalked off the stage.

His departure was a pity, for his long time friend Dr Fauci gave an extremely informative reply which heralded the final solution of the AIDS puzzle, suggesting both its cause and its cure.

Fauci’s Final Solution in AIDS

Here’s how it went. Houston asked his question as follows, both flattering the two exceptional scientists and armed with the reference to the Fauci written statement if for some reason the great man saw fit to deny it.

Houston: We have two of the most distinguished scientists in the world on AIDS on this panel and I would like to ask a basic scientific question. How does HIV cause AIDS? Does it do so by directly killing T-cells, as the New York Times science writers seem to tell us, or do you think it does it in the opposite way: by causing T-cells to multiply - and by overactivating the immune system?

And this is how Dr Fauci explained how HIV boosted the immune system, rather than crippled it, having identified drugs as the real cause of T-cell decline in his written review earlier:

Fauci: Well… It does it in both ways. I don’t want to waffle with you on that but it is very, very clear that HIV is related to a very aberrant turning on and activation of T-cells. When T-cells are sustained in their activation - because every time anybody in this room gets an immune response to a benign virus or bacteria your immune system activates (he draws line going up in air with his hand) and then it goes down again (draws line in the air going down again) to the base line.

We like the Freudian slip here in calling HIV a ‘benign” virus, but we may have misheard Fauci - readers can check for themselves when we put the video up on YouTube shortly for the admiration of all.

Here Fauci has confirmed that when HIV is responded to by the immune system, the T-cells are activated to drive it out, and indeed, reference to the Lempicki paper will, as Robert Houston has shown here in the last comment attached to our earlier post nominating Fauci for the Nobel, for a 56-fold rise in HIV viral load between early and intermediate levels of infection, CD4 T-cells decline not very much (around 6% in the chart), while CD8 T-cells rise 20 per cent, for a combined rise of 11%. Now Fauci continued:

When you have a high level of viremia with a lot of activation you just drive the immune system to an aberrant form of activation that leads to the death of a cell, even cells which don’t directly get infected with HIV. They die by a process called apoptosis, meaning essentially they die a suicidal type death.

Here the director of NIAID for 23 years is bringing in cell suicide as a means of explaining how T-cells do die in the face of HIV. Apoptosis is indeed the last refuge of HIV∫AIDS paradigm promoters in their anxiety to explain how it is that HIV might be causing immune collapse by killing T-cells, when there is no discernible biological activity along these lines detected by any researcher in the 23 years of exceptionally well funded HIV∫AIDS research.

The problem is that until Dr Fauci in this reply confirmed that this was the case, doubters had wondered what the evidence was that there was any more cell suicide than normal when the body is aiming for homeostasis, ie returning to the normal balance in the proportions of the constituents of the blood. Cell suicide is a normal process here, and with the levels being maintained, as Dr Fauci confirms, it is hard to see how it is killing off so many T-cells that the immune system collapses.

The difficulty that conjuring up cell suicide is intended to solve is that there is no evidence of any mechanism by which HIV directly kills T-cells, which was the original premise of Robert Gallo’s theory that HIV was the cause of the immune collapse of AIDS. The evidence is that HIV does not kill T-Cells, so enthusiasts for the well funded paradigm had to come up with indirect ways it might get rid of T-cells.

Apoptosis is the best they could come up with, which didn’t present any great difficulty to the army of officials, politicians, activists, health workers, journeyman scientists and dying AIDS patients who were told of this solution perhaps because none of them had heard of Ptolemy the Egyptian, who managed to work out elliptical orbits that could predict the movements of the planets even though he assumed that the Sun went around the Earth, rather than vice versa. The indirect mechanisms by which HIV is said to work its fatal effects on T-cells are the elliptical trajectories of the HIV∫AIDS explanation of AIDS.

Now, however, the director of NIAID sums it all up in one beautiful breakthrough concept which accounts, finally, for the ultimate decline and fall of the human immune system after years of responding to HIV by making T-cells which effectively drive out the virus in a matter of weeks, reducing it to minimal levels of as little as one to five active virions per milliliter, impossible to detect without PCR.

Why does it all change? Steam is key

The puzzle has always been, why does the immune system collapse in five ten or even twenty years, if it has got rid of virtually all virus within six weeks. Fauci now ‘explains’:

You can wind up depleting your T-cells by direct infection and those cells dying or just a burst of aberrant activation and also some elimination by the immune system of infected cells. So it’s not a unified concept; there’s multifactorial ways in which you drain your T-cells and then after a few years you just run out of steam.

In other words, Dr Fauci is prepared to throw everything including the kitchen sink into the mix. Those who say that HIV doesn’t kill T-cells are wrong, it does kill them by “direct infection” somehow. Then you have more killed by cell suicide after a “burst of aberrant activation”. Finally - here is the key at last - the immune system just “runs out of steam”.

Dr Fauci’s Solution to AIDS

Robert Houston confesses that he failed to follow up his question because he was prepared only for Fauci to deny that T-cells proliferated when faced with HIV. What we wish he had done is congratulate Fauci for a conceptual framework which tells us how to defeat AIDS.
Unless we misunderstand him, here is his solution to HIV∫AIDS:

1. With even a dramatic leap in viral load, the T-cells divide faster in response. The end result is that CD 8 T-cell count goes up substantially, with no significant decline in CD 4 T-cell count.

2. So if there is any concern that the immune system is weak, simply add more HIV.

3. Remove ARV drugs, and T-cells will multiply and return to excess levels again.

4. After defeating HIV is a matter of weeks and then maintaining this success for up to twenty years, somehow the immune system might run of steam.

5. But as Dr Fauci’s choice of phrase implies this loss of steam can surely be prevented with proper exercise, nutrition, fresh air, travel and all other general health stimulants, including the renewed optimism that comes from knowing there is a solution - the Fauci Solution to AIDS.

But since the Lasker winner didn’t actually mention this last point explicitly perhaps we can check with him at the lunch where he will accept his prize, surrounded by the members of the medical and economic establishment, of which he has long been a fully paid up member.

So after years of the whole world left confused and supporting antiretroviral drugs as the only defense against the deadly effect of HIV, we have Dr Fauci to thank for telling us that on the contrary, it is HIV rather than drugs which benefit the immune system.

Of course, it must be acknowledged that both Robert Gallo, and two years later Peter Duesberg, were the first to point out that HIV was harmlessly involved in AIDS. But neither of them detected the fact that it was actually beneficial to AIDS patients.

Gallo, of course, proved that HIV was not the cause of AIDS with his 1984 papers showing it was occurring in only one third of sick AIDS patients, with pre-AIDS patients having it more often, suggesting it was a possible antidote. Now Anthony Fauci has found why - HIV stimulates the immune system - and he has also noticed that drugs have a negative impact.

Considering that the drug companies involved in HIV∫AIDS have a considerable interest in this revision of the paradigm, we feel that Anthony Fauci is showing considerable moral fortitude in revealing these insights in public in front of gay activists, who were already a noisy crowd and most of them funded by the drug companies.

Luckily, however, none of them noticed.

Viruses lurking in biological samples could be killed off with an intense pulse of visible light, new research shows.

Scientists in the US say the technique seems to have significant advantages over alternative methods, including use of UV irradiation or microwaves, as it kills viruses more effectively and safely.

The technique destroys a virus with a pulse of light from a low-power laser. The pulse produces mechanical vibrations in the virus shell, or capsid, irreversibly damaging and disintegrating it, and so "deactivating" the virus for good. The technique might be used to kill HIV, as well as hepatitis C, say the researchers involved.

Traditional methods of destroying viruses, such as UV irradiation, can cause mutations, which eventually make the micro-organisms resistant. UV light can also damage the DNA of surrounding healthy cells.

Scientists have also tried using microwaves to kill viruses but this is even less promising since the water in and around a micro-organism strongly absorbs this frequency of light. Most of the energy from the microwave radiation is absorbed by the water and does not even reach the virus itself.

Human cells undamaged

Kong-Thon Tsen of Arizona State University, and colleagues at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and the Uniformed Services University of The Health Sciences, all in the US, found that visible light can overcome this problem.

The researchers applied pulses of purple-coloured light lasting just 100 femtoseconds (10-15 seconds) to viruses called M13 bacteriophages. It takes just a single pulse to destroy the viruses completely, say the researchers.

The "power density" of the laser is just 5 microjoules per square centimetre, which is low enough to leave surrounding human cells and tissue undamaged, but high enough to produce large-amplitude vibrations in a virus's capsid. It is also too low to cause genetic mutations, meaning the virus will not build up resistant to the treatment over time.

Disinfecting blood

Tsen told New Scientist that the technique could be used to disinfect blood or other biological samples in hospitals.

"In addition, we believe that the method may be especially important in designing novel treatments for blood-borne viral diseases," he said. "For example blood dialysis allows us to irradiate a patient's blood outside the body and potentially cleanse it of infectious virus particles before reintroducing it into the patient. In this way, we could reduce mortality associated with diseases like hepatitis C and AIDS."

The team now plans to test the efficacy of its technique in killing a wide range of deadly viruses, including HIV and hepatitis C. "We also plan to conduct further tests on the effects of the low-power visible laser on mammalian cells to determine any potential side effects and confirm that it selectively kills viruses," said Tsen.

You may not realize that the Souls of you and your brother and sister, the only real and imperishable parts of the mortal you, are but different phases of Me in expression in what is called Nature.

Likewise you may not realize that you and your brothers and sisters are phases or attributes of My Divine Nature, just as your human personality, with its mortal body, mind and intellect, is a phase of your human nature.

No, you do not realize this yet, but I speak of it now, that you may know the signs when they begin to appear in your consciousness, as they surely will.

In order to recognize these signs, all that now follows must be considered carefully and studied, and should not be passed by until My meaning, at least in some degree, is grasped.

Once you fully understand the principle I here set down, then all My Message will become clear and comprehensible.

I first give you the Key that will unlock every mystery that now hides from you the secret of My Being.

This Key, when you once know how to use it, will open the door to all Wisdom and all Power in heaven and earth. Yea, it will open the door to the Kingdom of Heaven, and then you have but to enter in to become consciously One with Me.

This Key is

"To THINK is to CREATE," or

"As you THINK in your HEART, so is it with you".

Stop and meditate on this that it may get firmly fixed in your mind.

A Thinker is a Creator.

A Thinker lives in a world of his own conscious creation.

When you once know how "to think," you can create at will anything you wish, -- whether it be a new personality, a new environment, or a new world.

Let us see if you cannot grasp some of the Truths hidden and controlled by this Key.

You have been shown how all consciousness is One, and how it is all My Consciousness, and yet is also yours and likewise that of the animal, the plant, the stone, and the invisible cell.

You have seen how this consciousness is controlled by My Will, which causes the invisible cells to unite and form the various organisms for the expression and use of the different Centers of Intelligence through which I desire to express.

But you cannot yet see how you can direct and control the consciousness of the cells of your own body, not to speak of those of other bodies, even if you and I and they are all one in consciousness and intelligence.

By paying especial attention to what follows, however, you now may be enabled to see this.

Have you ever taken the pains to study out what is consciousness? How it seems to be an impersonal state of awareness, of waiting to serve or to be directed or used by some power latent in and intimately related to itself?

How man seems to be merely the highest type of organism containing this consciousness, which is directed and used by this power within itself?

That this power latent in man's consciousness and in all consciousness is nothing but Will, My Will? For you know that all power is but the manifestation of My Will.

Now you have been told that in the beginning I created man in "My Image and Likeness," after which I breathed into him the Breath of Life and he became a Living Soul.

By creating man in My Image and Likeness I created an organism capable of expressing all of My Consciousness and all of My Will, which means likewise all of My Power, My Intelligence, and My Love. I therefore made it perfect in the beginning, patterning it after My own Perfection.

When I breathed into man's organism My Breath, it became alive with Me; for then it was I breathed into it My Will -- not from without, but from within -- from the Kingdom of Heaven within, where always I AM. Ever afterward I breathed and lived and had My Being within man, for I created him in My Image and Likeness only for that purpose.

The proof of this is, man does not and cannot breathe of himself. Something far greater than his conscious, natural self lives in his body and breathes through his lungs. A mighty power within his body thus uses the lungs, even as it uses the heart to force the blood containing the life it indrew through the lungs to every cell of the body; as it uses the stomach and other organs to digest and assimilate food to make blood, tissue, hair and bone; as it uses the brain, the tongue, the hands and feet, to think and say and do everything that man does.

This power is My Will to BE and LIVE in man. Therefore, whatever man is, I AM, and whatever man does, or you do, I do, and whatever you say or think, it is I Who say or think it through your organism.

You were also told that when man was thus possessed of My Breath he was given dominion over all the kingdoms of the earth. Which means he was made lord of the earth, the sea, the air and the ethers, and all beings living in all these kingdoms paid him homage and were subject to his will.

This naturally was so, for I, within man's consciousness and within all consciousness, AM always manifesting My Will; and I, the lord and ruler of man's organism, AM likewise the lord and ruler of all organisms in which consciousness dwells. As all consciousness is My Consciousness and It dwells wherever there is life , and as there is no substance in which there is not life, then My Consciousness must be in everything, -- in earth, water, air and fire, and therefore must fill all space. In fact it is space, or that which man calls space.

Then My Will, being the power latent in all consciousness, must reach everywhere. Therefore man's will, which is but a focalization of My Will, must likewise reach everywhere; hence the consciousness of all organisms, including his own, is subject to man's direction and control.

All it needs is for him consciously to realize this, realize that I, the Impersonal Self within him, AM constantly directing, controlling and using the consciousness of all organisms every moment of every day of his life.

I AM doing this by and through his thinking.

I AM doing this with and through man's organism. Man thinks he thinks; but it is I, the Real I of him, who thinks through his organism. Through this thinking and his spoken word I accomplish all that man does, and make man and his world all that they are.

It makes no difference if man and his world are not what he supposes they are.

They are just what I created them to be for My Purpose.

But, if I do all the thinking, man does not and cannot think, I hear you say.

Yes, here seems a mystery, but it will be revealed to you, if you note carefully what follows:

It seems like the plot of a particularly far-fetched horror film. But some scientists suggest that our love of the mobile phone could cause massive food shortages, as the world's harvests fail.

They are putting forward the theory that radiation given off by mobile phones and other hi-tech gadgets is a possible answer to one of the more bizarre mysteries ever to happen in the natural world - the abrupt disappearance of the bees that pollinate crops. Late last week, some bee-keepers claimed that the phenomenon - which started in the US, then spread to continental Europe - was beginning to hit Britain as well.

The theory is that radiation from mobile phones interferes with bees' navigation systems, preventing the famously homeloving species from finding their way back to their hives. Improbable as it may seem, there is now evidence to back this up.

Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) occurs when a hive's inhabitants suddenly disappear, leaving only queens, eggs and a few immature workers, like so many apian Mary Celestes. The vanished bees are never found, but thought to die singly far from home. The parasites, wildlife and other bees that normally raid the honey and pollen left behind when a colony dies, refuse to go anywhere near the abandoned hives.

The alarm was first sounded last autumn, but has now hit half of all American states. The West Coast is thought to have lost 60 per cent of its commercial bee population, with 70 per cent missing on the East Coast.

CCD has since spread to Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece. And last week John Chapple, one of London's biggest bee-keepers, announced that 23 of his 40 hives have been abruptly abandoned.

Other apiarists have recorded losses in Scotland, Wales and north-west England, but the Department of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs insisted: "There is absolutely no evidence of CCD in the UK."

The implications of the spread are alarming. Most of the world's crops depend on pollination by bees. Albert Einstein once said that if the bees disappeared, "man would have only four years of life left".

No one knows why it is happening. Theories involving mites, pesticides, global warming and GM crops have been proposed, but all have drawbacks.

German research has long shown that bees' behaviour changes near power lines.

Now a limited study at Landau University has found that bees refuse to return to their hives when mobile phones are placed nearby. Dr Jochen Kuhn, who carried it out, said this could provide a "hint" to a possible cause.

Dr George Carlo, who headed a massive study by the US government and mobile phone industry of hazards from mobiles in the Nineties, said: "I am convinced the possibility is real."

The case against handsets

Evidence of dangers to people from mobile phones is increasing. But proof is still lacking, largely because many of the biggest perils, such as cancer, take decades to show up.

Most research on cancer has so far proved inconclusive. But an official Finnish study found that people who used the phones for more than 10 years were 40 per cent more likely to get a brain tumour on the same side as they held the handset.

Equally alarming, blue-chip Swedish research revealed that radiation from mobile phones killed off brain cells, suggesting that today's teenagers could go senile in the prime of their lives.

Studies in India and the US have raised the possibility that men who use mobile phones heavily have reduced sperm counts. And, more prosaically, doctors have identified the condition of "text thumb", a form of RSI from constant texting.

Professor Sir William Stewart, who has headed two official inquiries, warned that children under eight should not use mobiles and made a series of safety recommendations, largely ignored by ministers.

Most of us are going to be surprised to find out that there is an oncologist in Rome Italy, Dr. Tullio Simoncini, destroying cancer tumors with sodium bicarbonate.[i] Sodium bicarbonate is safe, extremely inexpensive and unstoppably effective when it comes to cancer tissues. It’s an irresistible chemical, cyanide to cancer cells for it hits the cancer cells with a shock wave of alkalinity, which allows much more oxygen into the cancer cells than they can tolerate. Cancer cells cannot survive in the presence of high levels of oxygen. Sodium bicarbonate is, for all intent and purposes, an instant killer of tumors. Full treatment takes only days, as does another cancer treatment that heats the cancer cells with laser generated heat. (At bottom see combining ph shift with heat.)

The extracellular (interstitial) pH (pHe) of solid tumours
is significantly more acidic compared to normal tissues. [ii]

Case one: A patient diagnosed with pulmonary neoplasm of the lung, underwent treatment with sodium bicarbonate, before submitting to surgery to remove part of the lung. Treatment consisted of sodium bicarbonate administered orally, by aerosol, and IV. After first treatment reduction of nodules and absorption was evident, and after 8 months was no longer visible at all. Treatments also reduced size of the liver and results were confirmed by both X-ray and CAT scan.

Studies have shown how manipulation of tumour pH with sodium bicarbonate enhances some forms of chemotherapy.[iii] Proteins can be modified both in vivo and in vitro by increases in acidity. In fact pH is the regulatory authority that controls most cellular processes. The pH balance of the human bloodstream is recognized by medical physiology texts as one of the most important biochemical balances in all of human body chemistry. pH is the acronym for "Potential Hydrogen". In definition, it is the degree of concentration of hydrogen ions in a substance or solution. It is measured on a logarithmic scale from 0 to 14. Higher numbers mean a substance is more alkaline in nature and there is a greater potential for absorbing more hydrogen ions. Lower numbers indicate more acidity with less potential for absorbing hydrogen ions.

Our body pH is very important because pH controls the speed of our body's biochemical reactions. It does this by controlling the speed of enzyme activity as well as the speed that electricity moves through our body. The higher (more alkaline) the pH of a substance or solution, the more electrical resistance that substance or solution holds. Therefore, electricity travels slower with higher pH. If we say something has an acid pH, we are saying it is hot and fast. Alkaline pH on the other hand, biochemically speaking, is slow and cool.
Cancer tissues have a much higher concentration of
toxic chemicals, pesticides, etc then do healthy tissues.

In 1973, a study conducted by the Department of Occupational Health at Hebrew University-Hadassah Medical School in Jerusalem found that when cancerous breast tissue is compared with non-cancerous tissue from elsewhere in the same woman's body, the concentration of toxic chemicals such as DDT and PCBs was "much increased in the malignant tissue compared to the normal breast and adjacent adipose tissue."[iv] This should say something to the oncologists of the world about chemical etiologies that are going undiagnosed and untreated.

Part of any successful cancer treatment includes chelation and detoxification of heavy metals and a host of toxic chemicals, which are all invading our bodies’ everyday. It is literally raining mercury, uranium contamination is increasing, lead we are discovering is even more toxic than anyone ever believed and is even in the bread that we eat, arsenic is in our chicken, the government still wants you to get your yearly mercury flu shot, dentists of course are still using hundreds of tons of mercury exposing patients to internalized toxic waste dumps (mercury vapors from hell), fluoride is still put in the water and chlorine is breathed in most showers. This just covers a small slice of the toxic disaster that is the hallmark of life in the 21st century. But oncologists have just not been able to understand that cancer patients are suffering from poisoning on a massive scale with all the chemicals scientists have already established cause cancer.

The IMVA recommends alkaline foods and sodium bicarbonate so that the pH of the blood remains high, which in turn means that the blood is capable of carrying more oxygen. This in turn keeps every cell in the body at peak efficiency and helps the cell eliminate waste products. Detoxification and chelation will proceed more easily and safely under slightly alkaline conditions. Increased urinary pH reduces oxidative injury in the kidney so it behooves us to work clinically with bicarbonate.

Body ph level changes are intense in the profundity of their biological effects. Even genes directly experience external pH. pH differentially regulates a large number of proteins. Increased oxidative stress, which correlates almost exponentially with ph changes into the acidic, is especially dangerous to the mitochondria, which suffer the greatest under oxidative duress. Epigenetics, which may now have begun eclipsing traditional genetics, commonly describes how factors such as diet and smoking, rather than inheritance influence how genes behave.

Dr. Otto Warburg, two times Nobel Prize winner, stated in his book, The Metabolism of Tumors that the primary cause of cancer was the replacement of oxygen in the respiratory cell chemistry by the fermentation of sugar. The growth of cancer cells is initiated by a fermentation process, which can be triggered only in the absence of oxygen at the cell level. What Warburg was describing was a classic picture of acidic conditions. Just like overworked muscle cells manufacture lactic acid by-products as waste, cancerous cells spill lactic acid and other acidic compounds causing acid pH.

After we just saw how important sulfur is in human health and how useful a basic chemical like sodium thiosulfate can be, we now get a crash course in the power of sodium bicarbonate and the act of instantly turning cancer cells alkaline. Might as well shoot a guided cruise missile at them - so effective, safe, quick and precise is sodium bicarbonate, inexpensive as well. Just a few pennies a day of it will keep cancer further away, keeping it at arms length from ourselves, patients and loved ones. It is something we can use to treat our water with as well, excellent to put in distilled or reverse osmosis water or any water for that matter.

A true understanding of cancer is impossible without understanding why some tissues in the body are deficient in oxygen and therefore prone to cancer. Cancerous tissues are acidic, whereas healthy tissues are alkaline. Water (H2O) decomposes into H+ and OH-. When a solution contains more H+ than OH- then it is said to be acid. When it contains more OH- than H+ then it is said to be alkaline. When oxygen enters an acid solution it can combine with H+ ions to form water. Oxygen helps to neutralize the acid, while at the same time the acid prevents oxygen from reaching the tissues that need it. Acidic tissues are devoid of free oxygen. An alkaline solution is just the reverse. Two hydroxyl ions (OH-) can combine to produce one water molecule and one oxygen atom. In other words, an alkaline solution can provide oxygen to the tissues.

The pH scale goes from 0 to 14, with 7 being neutral.
Below 7 is acid and above 7 is alkaline. The blood,
lymph and cerebral spinal fluid in the human body
are designed to be slightly alkaline at a pH of 7.4.

At a pH slightly above 7.4 cancer cells become dormant and at pH 8.5 cancer cells will die while healthy cells will live. This has given rise to a variety of treatments based on increasing the alkalinity of the tissues such as vegetarian diet, the drinking of fresh fruit and vegetable juices, and dietary supplementation with alkaline minerals such as calcium, potassium, magnesium, cesium and rubidium. But nothing can compare to the instant alkalinizing power of sodium bicarbonate for safe and effective treatment of cancer.

Like magnesium chloride or sulfates are excellent emergency medicines, basic chemicals, nutritional in nature, sodium bicarbonate is a nutritional medicine meaning it cannot and will not end up controlled by CODEX. To control bicarbonate they would have to demand mothers stop making cake with it. We might thus identify sodium bicarbonate as an emergency medicine for cancer with the above supporting approaches working on broader levels to help overall physiology change to a degree where body chemistry is unfavorable for new cancer growth.

Cancer seems to grow slowly in a highly acid environment (because the acids cause it to partially destroy itself) and may actually grow more quickly as your body becomes more alkaline prior to reaching the healthy pH slightly above 7.4 where the cancer becomes dormant. Therefore it is important to get pH above 7.4 quickly. Once one has achieved a pH above 7.4, it is useful to monitor saliva pH regularly to ensure that the body remains sufficiently alkaline.

Earlier and more frequent use of sodium bicarbonate was associated
with higher early resuscitability rates and with better long-term
neurological outcome. Sodium bicarbonate is beneficial during CPR.[vi]

"The therapeutic treatment of bicarbonate salts can be administered orally, through aerosol, intravenously and through catheter for direct targeting of tumors.” All of Dr. Tullio Simoncini’s treatments with sodium bicarbonate are directed as specifically as possible to the organs involved, for example, vaginally as well as abdominally into the peritoneal space for cervical cancer, through the hepatic artery for liver cancer in order to get the solution as close to the affected area as possible. Sodium bicarbonate administered orally, via aerosol or intravenously can achieve positive results in most tumors, including the brain, while others, such as the serious ones of the bones can remain unaffected. Dr. Simoncini, with the help of interventionist radiologists was able to reach those areas of the body that had previously been inaccessible. This was achieved through positioning appropriate catheters either in cavities for peritoneum and pleura, or in arteries to reach other organs.[vii]

The most effective measure to treat RT-induced mucositis in patients
with head and neck cancer is frequent oral rinsing with a sodium
bicarbonate rinse, to reduce the amount of oral microbial flora.[viii]

Case two: A nine-year-old child is hospitalized and diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma on the right humerus. Despite several chemotherapy cycles surgery removed the humeral bone. Growth of three tumor masses continued despite continued efforts to stop progression. Sodium bicarbonate salts treatment were then started administered by catheter into the right sub-clavian artery in order to administer the salts (phleboclysis of 500 cc at five per cent) directly on the tumoral masses. Of the 3 masses shown by the scographic scan of May 7, 2001, whose size is respectively:
a. 6,5 cm
b. 4,4 cm
c. 2,4 cm

After the sodium bicarbonate salts treatment only one tumor was left, with a size of only 1.5 cm, which is most likely residual scarring, as shown by the echography of September 10, 2001.

Sodium bicarbonate injection is also indicated in the treatment of metabolic acidosis which may occur in severe renal disease, uncontrolled diabetes, and circulatory insufficiency due to shock or severe dehydration, extracorporeal circulation of blood, cardiac arrest and severe primary lactic acidosis. Sodium bicarbonate is further indicated in the treatment of drug intoxications, including barbiturates. Sodium carbonate has been found effective in treating poisoning or overdose from many chemicals and pharmaceutical drugs by negating the cardiotoxic and neurotoxic effects. [ix]

neurological disorders in children.

Knowledge of sodium bicarbonate is important for parents because the rate of childhood cancer is growing exponentially. But parents who resist the radiation burning, cutting and the lethal chemicals are regularly hauled before the courts only to have their children taken away from them. Oncologists are increasingly resorting to the justice system to have children made wards of the courts who then turn them over to medically irresponsible practitioners. It is inexcusable separating a child from his mother and father in the middle of a medical crisis. Adding to the stress by tormenting patients’ hearts and souls has nothing to do with safe or effective medicine. The naked truth is doctors and medical institutions have not earned the necessary trust for this level of intervention in people’s lives. With patient safety slipping year by year,[x] children are not safe in hospitals, much less so if forced at gunpoint from their parents embrace.

Biological Treatments for Autism and PDD

One mother wrote, “It worked so well for both of my children that the die-off was an uneventful experience, even though they both had very high levels of yeast.” The restoring of acid/alkaline balance also relieves many allergies. “These children also had grave disturbances in electrolyte chemistry, and tended to be acidotic (low CO). The data that unfolded was fascinating and clearly earmarked the acidosis and hypoxic state (low serum bicarbonate = low O2 levels). Potassium bicarbonate, sodium bicarbonate, magnesium carbonate and the like were used. Now we began to understand why so many children responded to Buffered C (potassium bicarbonate, calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate), and others needed a more specific buffer (in some children for example niacin was grossly depleted and they required niacin bicarbonate),” wrote Patricia Kane.

The acid/alkaline balance is one of the most overlooked aspects
of health, though many have written much about it. In general,
the American public is heavily acid, excepting vegetarians.

Case three: A 62-year-old patient undergoes surgery in December 1998 for endometrial adenocarcinoma, followed by successive cycles of radiotherapy and anti-hormone therapy. Following the thickening of the peritoneum and the growth of several lymph nodes due to carcinosis; from the clinical point of view, the patient’s condition decayed with the presence of exhaustion, general swelling, intestinal meteorism, irregularity of evacuation, steady feeling of heaviness and blood pressure instability. Treatment with a 5% sodium bicarbonate solution administered alternately thru an endoperitoneal catheter and via IV showed rapid improvement to a normal condition of health. A final CAT scan confirms the regression of the peritoneal carcinosis and a stabilization of the size of the lymph nodes when compared to the preceding year.

The kidneys are usually the first organs to show chemical
damage upon uranium exposure, military manuals suggest
doses or infusions of sodium bicarbonate to help alkalinize the
urine if this happens. This makes the uranyl ion less kidney-toxic
and promotes excretion of the nontoxic uranium-carbonate complex.
The oral administration of sodium bicarbonate diminishes the
severity of the changes produced by uranium in the kidneys.[xi]

Case four: A 40-year-old patient underwent surgical intervention (left radical mastectomy) for mammarian carcinoma seven months earlier. After three months of chemotherapy, the patient is affected by: “diffused pulmonary and hepatic metastasis; bone metastasis particularly to the fifth and sixth lumbar vertebrae, with invasion and compression of the medullar channel, which is causing extreme pain which makes the patient unresponsive to any treatment.” All pain suppressant drugs – morphine included – are totally ineffective and the patient is totally prostrate even unable to sleep. Believing that fungal colonies amassed in the medullar channel will respond to administration of sodium bicarbonate salts, lumbar injections are begun.

Dr Tullio Simoncini recounts: “As I administer it by slowly injecting 50 cc of sodium bicarbonate solution at 8.4 %, the patient tosses and with a thread of a voice confesses to me that she has slept only two hours in the last week. Exhausted, she whispers to me: “If only I could sleep half an hour tonight.” But the day after, she calls me on the phone and says: “I have slept all night”. After two more lumbar injections of the bicarbonate salts in the next month, the pain disappeared completely. Magnetic Resonance imaging reports performed before and after treatment were defined by hospital head of the radiology department as "shocking."

Sodium bicarbonate is the chemical compound with the formula NaHCO3. Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) is commonly used as an antacid for short-term relief of stomach upset, to correct acidosis in kidney disorders, to make the urine alkaline during bladder infections and to minimize uric acid crystallization during gout treatment. Prescription sodium bicarbonate products are given by injection to treat metabolic acidosis and some drug intoxications. Sodium bicarbonate is available as a nonprescription medical as well as a general house hold item. It is also used with other non-prescription drugs for short-term treatment of various conditions to treat anything from fever to moderate pain.

Sodium bicarbonate possesses the property of absorbing heavy
metals, dioxins and furans. Comparison of cancer tissue with
healthy tissue from the same person shows that the cancer tissue
has a much higher concentration of toxic chemicals, pesticides, etc.

Sodium bicarbonate neutralizes acids present in gases (in particular hydrochloric acid, suphur dioxide, hydrofluoric acid) to form sodium salts (sodium chloride, sodium sulphate, sodium fluoride, sodium carbonate), which are all known as Residual Sodium Chemicals. Sodium bicarbonate can be made into a paste salve with vinegar, it relieves burning from bug stings (particularly bee stings), poison ivy, nettles, and sunburn. It is used as an antacid to treat acid indigestion and heartburn. Mixed with water in a 10% solution can soften earwax for removal.

Because sodium bicarbonate has long been known and is widely used, it has many other names including sodium hydrogen carbonate, sodium bicarb, baking soda, bread soda, cooking soda, bicarb soda, saleratus or bicarbonate of soda. It is soluble in water. This white solid is crystalline but often appears as a fine powder. It has a slight alkaline taste resembling that of sodium carbonate. It is a component of the mineral natron and is found dissolved in many mineral springs. It is also produced artificially. World wide production is on the scale of 100,000 ton/year. Sodium bicarbonate is primarily used in cooking (baking) where it reacts with other components to release carbon dioxide, that helps dough "rise."

It is commonly used to increase the pH and total alkalinity of the water for pools and spas. Sodium bicarbonate can be added as a simple solution for restoring the pH balance of water that has a high level of chlorine. It is sometimes used in septic tanks to control pH and bacteria.

Sodium bicarbonate-rich mineral water in conjunction with a
low-salt diet may have a beneficial effect on calcium homeostasis.[xiii]

Distilled water is not safe, it lacks bicarbonates and minerals and yes, it is acid forming to the body. Yet it is an excellent aid in detoxification and chelation for its purity pulls on toxicities in the body. Part of the reason why our body is acid is that it lacks enough bicarbonate necessary to neutralize the acid. Whenever the water lacks the proper bicarbonates to neutralize the water in distilled water your body basically becomes a little more acid. But we can easily treat distilled or reverse osmosis water by adding bicarbonate and magnesium and perhaps even some sodium thiosulfate. (The art and science of water treatment will be covered in The Waters of Life, another IMVA publication due out later this year. The conscious use of water favorably increases medical outcomes, often it even determines the prognosis. You cannot separate out hydration from pH. Dehydration would certainly push the body toward acidity.)

pH of the blood is the most important factor to
determine the state of the microorganisms in the blood.

The native chemical and physical properties of sodium bicarbonate account for its wide range of applications, including cleaning, deodorizing, buffering, and fire extinguishing. Sodium bicarbonate neutralizes odors chemically, rather than masking or absorbing them. Consequently, it is used in bath salts and deodorant body powders. Sodium bicarbonate tends to maintain a pH of 8.1 (7 is neutral) even when acids, which lower pH, or bases, which raise pH, are added to the solution. Its ability to tabletize makes it a good effervescent ingredient in antacids and denture cleaning products. Sodium bicarbonate is also found in some anti-plaque mouthwash products and toothpaste.

Sodium bicarbonate also is indicated in severe diarrhea which is often accompanied by a significant loss of bicarbonate. Vigorous bicarbonate therapy is required in any form of metabolic acidosis where a rapid increase in plasma total CO2 content is crucial â€ e.g. cardiac arrest, circulatory insufficiency due to shock or severe dehydration , and in severe primary lactic acidosis or severe diabetic acidosis.

Sodium Bicarbonate Injection, USP is administered by the intravenous route. In cardiac arrest, a rapid intravenous dose of one to two 50 mL vials (44.6 to 100 mEq) may be given initially and continued at a rate of 50 mL (44.6 to 50 mEq) every 5 to 10 minutes if necessary (as indicated by arterial pH and blood gas monitoring) to reverse the acidosis. Caution should be observed in emergencies where very rapid infusion of large quantities of bicarbonate is indicated. Bicarbonate solutions are hypertonic and may produce an undesirable rise in plasma sodium concentration in the process. of correcting the metabolic acidosis. In cardiac arrest, however, the risks from acidosis exceed those of hypernatremia.

In the current system, if a promising compound canâ€™t be patented, it is highly unlikely ever to make it to market â€” no matter how well it performs in the laboratory or in emergency room situations. The hormone melatonin,[xiv] sold as an inexpensive food supplement in the United States, has repeatedly been shown to slow the growth of various cancers when used in conjunction with conventional treatments. Dr. Paolo Lissoni, another Italian oncologist has written many articles about this hormone and conducted clinical trials. But he has despaired over the pharmaceutical industryâ€™s total lack of interest in his treatment approach.

We need a new approach to fight cancer, one that will work safely and effectively since the majority of us are now destined to have to suffer through cancer at one point or another in our lives. The situation in the field of oncology is horrendous and in the area of childhood oncology they have earned their place in the book The Terror of Pediatric Medicine, (which one can download as a free e-book.)

Most people today cringe at the idea of finding a cancer then slashing, burning and poisoning it to smithereens. Most would agree that the mainstream cancer approach offers only marginal benefits at best, and providers push screening and aggressive treatment in part because they have nothing else to give, and also because itâ€™s very profitable.

balanced it is susceptible to little illness or disease.

Since 1971, when President Nixon declared war on cancer, the budget of the National Cancer Institute has increased to $4.8 billion from half a billion andÂ cancer rates are still going up. For most of the past half-century, medical treatment of invasive tumors like those of the breast and colon has relied mainly on drugs, radiation or both, in effect carpet-bombing the DNA of cancer cells. These highly toxic treatments do not address the root causes of cancer and are extremely dangerous, medical approaches involving the highest risks. Â

The great variety of cancers must reflect a fundamental
mechanism by which the disease arises, one
that has not been so clearly apparent until now.

Though allopathic medicine already uses sodium bicarbonate it will not any day soon turn to its own arsenal of already available safe and inexpensive medications like sodium bicarbonate or magnesium chloride. The medical industrial complex seems unwilling to change its views on cancer so patients will need to quietly ask their doctors for intravenous bicarbonate without specifying it as a substance they want to use to cure their cancer. It will be easier to find someone if one approaches with a need to treat acidic conditions than the actual cancer. Few doctors are willing to risk their licenses so it is better not to put them in an uncomfortable situation that they cannot control.

The closer the pH is to 7.35 - 7.45, the higher our level of
health and well being and our ability to resist states of disease.

Sadly this does not address the need for the use of catheters which target tumors more directly thus pushing us toward a more complete protocol that will target cancer in a more general and comprehensive way. This needs to be done anyway because killing the tumor with a rush of alkalinity that provokes an oxygen rush into the cells will not prevent the condition from reoccurring. Though we can think that acidity is a basic cause of cancer a more basic cause is addressed when we look at what leads to the acidic conditions that are so prevalent in our bodies today.

Sodium bicarbonate is an anti-fungin substance
that is very diffusible and thus very effective.

Dr Tullio Simoncini says, â€œIt is useful to consider the extreme sensitivity of fungi to saline and electrolytic solutions. These solutions, because of their extreme capacity for diffusion, are able to reach all the myceliar biological expressions, including the most infinitesimal ones. Salts and bicarbonates, by making the terrain completely inorganic, eliminates the slightest organic fonts that fungi could use for nourishment. In this context, sodium bicarbonate, which is currently used in children's oral candidoses, appears to be a simple and handy weapon capable of uprooting, inhibiting, or attenuating any neoplastic formation wherever it is possible to easily apply it.

Cancer is actually a four-letter word ACID,
especially lactic acid as a waste product due to the
low oxygen level and waste products of yeast and fungus.

For centuries, medicated baths have been one of the first lines of treatment for psoriasis. Even today, with sophisticated immunosuppressive treatments available, Dead Sea salts and spa waters are recognized to be beneficial in the management of psoriatic patients.

To assess statistically the efficacy of sodium bicarbonate baths in psoriasis patients, thirty-one patients with mild-moderate psoriasis were studied. Almost all patients who used NaHCO3- reported a statistically valuable improvement. NaHCO3- baths reduced itchiness and irritation; in general, the patients themselves recognized a beneficial impact on their psoriasis, so much so that they have continued to bathe in NaHCO3- even after the end of the study. [xv]

Sodium bicarbonate therapy is harmless, fast and effective because it is extremely diffusible. A therapy with bicarbonate for cancer should be set up with strong dosage, continuously, and with pauseless cycles in a destruction work which should proceed from the beginning to the end without interruption for at least 7-8 days. In general a mass of 2-3-4 centimetres will begin to consistently regress from the third to the fourth day, and collapses from the fourth to the fifth. Generally speaking, the maximum limit of the dosage that can be administered in a session gravitates around 500 cc of sodium bicarbonate at five per cent solution, with the possibility of increasing or decreasing the dosage by 20 per cent in function of the body mass of the individual to be treated and in the presence of multiple localisations upon which to apportion a greater quantity of salts,
instructs Dr Simoncini.

In the early stages of acidic pH in the body's tissues, the warning symptoms are mild. These include such things as skin eruptions, headaches, allergies, colds, flu and sinus problems. These symptoms are frequently treated (manipulated) with antibiotic drugs and suppressive medications. The longer and the deeper we become acidic the more our illness takes hold so it's best to fight acidic conditions early on and in every presenting clinical situation. Certainly a highly toxic drug like anti viral Tamiflu won't do a fraction of the job sodium bicarbonate will do especially if it's combined with magnesium chloride and iodine as well as high levels of vitamin C.

Er zijn in Nederland naar schatting 13.000 mensen seropositief bevonden. Volgens algemeen geldende opvatting betekent dat, dat deze mensen met HIV-besmet zijn en binnen 7 tot 10 jaar dood zullen gaan aan AIDS. Al binnen enkele jaren is het leven van velen van hen door de vernietigende werking van AIDS-remmers / chemokuur al zo miserabel en eenzaam dat onderscheid met AIDS niet meer te maken is.

In augustus vorig jaar kwam Zapruder Inc. persoonlijk in contact met AIDS-patienten die hun behandeling stopten en weer gezond werden. En bleven. Samen met een gereputeerd biochemicus, enkele materiedeskundigen en deze patienten ging http://www.zapruder.nl op onderzoek uit.

Wat wij vonden, was onthutsend. ‘s Werelds beste wetenschappers en virologen, waaronder drie Nobelprijswinnnaars (chemie), geloven niet in HIV of de besmettelijkheid van AIDS en kunnen dat ook zeer robuust onderbouwen. Er blijken gegronde twijfels te bestaan aan de aanname dat HIV verantwoordelijk is voor seropositiviteit of AIDS en de laatste jaren voegen steeds meer wetenschappers zich bij de ‘dissidente’ beweging. Uit diverse vakgebieden: zo blijkt de huidige AIDS-theorie bijvoorbeeld ook wiskundig niet te bewijzen. Er lopen momenteel rechtzaken die vallen of staan met de (niet te geven) bewijzen voor HIV of AIDS en recentelijk is zelfs bij het internationaal strafhof een genocide aanklacht ingediend tegen een Zuid-afrikaanse ‘AIDS-lobbyist’.

Wat wij verder vonden was dat geen enkele van de bestaande HIV-tests, noch de ELISA, noch de Western Blot en zeker niet de PCR-test, HIV-besmetting kan aantonen en dat fabrikanten dat ook niet ontkennen. De tests blijken ook nog notoir onbetrouwbaar in dat wat ze wel aantonen. Nog veel opzienbarender is dat dezelfde tests gebruikt kunnen worden om te beredeneren dat seropositiviteit misschien wel een normale, niet besmettelijke reactie van het lichaam is op diverse factoren zoals griep, anale sex, bloedtransfusie of zwangerschap. Seropositiviteit zou heel goed een onschadelijke toestand kunnen zijn die tijdelijk kan worden geactiveerd en niet wordt doorgegeven via besmetting.

Wij vonden ook een heel contingent wetenschappers dat ons met grote mond en veel bluf probeerde te ontmoedigen en onze vragen ridiculiseerden zonder ooit inhoudelijk te worden. Gek genoeg allemaal aan de door pharmaceutische industrie gesponsorde kant, verzameld in bedrijven en stichtingen als IATec en HIV-monitoring. We ontvingen een verkapte bedreiging van een AIDS-remmer fabrikant toen we informeerden naar bewijzen voor de werkzaamheid van hun medicijnen. AIDS-onderzoek blijkt door corruptie en intimidatie te worden omgeven en van gezonde dialoog of zuivere wetenschap is absoluut geen sprake.

Wat wij niet vonden was het virus, niet in PubMed, niet in andere bibliotheken, nergens. HIV blijkt onvindbaar.

Deze maand doen wij uitvoerig verslag van onze bevindingen. Wij geven enkele door iedere wetenschapper uitvoerbare tests, die in een gezond vakgebied de geldende AIDS-theorie zouden doen wankelen, zo niet ontkrachten.

Doug Ireland prescribes a violent reaction to the Bush/Pharma axis.

WITHOUT A WORD OF PROTEST from the national AIDS organizations, the Bush administration, behind closed doors, has been sabotaging the ability of the world's poorest countries to produce or buy cheap, generic AIDS meds. Here's the background: In November 2001, after a long fight against Big Pharma's monopolization of AIDS-drug production, a World Trade Organization meeting in Doha, Qatar, agreed that poor countries should have the right to break the multinational drug companies patent monopoly if they declared a national AIDS emergency. The U.S. was among the 142 countries signing this breakthrough agreement, under which poor countries could make their own AIDS meds cheaply or buy generic versions from a producing country (like India), thus bypassing Big Pharma.
This was a huge victory, won after years of struggle by AIDS and nongovernmental public health advocacy organizations around the world. The Doha Declaration began to save thousands of lives, by getting cheap, life prolonging meds into the hands of HIV positive people in poorer nations. But the Bush administration is morbidly blackmailing poor countries into forfeiting their production rights under that treaty if they want (so-called) Free Trade Agreements with the U.S. Either the poor countries refuse to knuckle under and scuttle these bilateral and regional trade deals-worth billions-with Washington, or they accept the deals and raise the price of AIDS meds beyond the reach of the poor.
This unconscionable blackmail has made many countries, including six in Latin America, cede their rights to break the Big Pharma AIDS drug monopoly. Washington has launched touch negotiations with a raft of poor countries hard hit by AIDS, from Thailand to five southern African lands, including Botswana & South Africa. If Thailand signs the U.S. trade proposal, "Those who require the essential drugs but cannot afford them-they will have to die." says Suwit Wibulpolpraset, MD, the Thai Public Health Ministry official coordinating his country's response to the Bush administrations arm breaking trade deal that rolls back the Doha agreement. And the same goes for the other nationsbeaten with Washingtons big stick. Bush and his cronies "began this trade blackmail in 2002, after a group of the largest Big Pharma companies-headed by Pfizer CEO Hank McKinnell - raised $30 million for the Republicans' congressional campaigns that year," says James Love, of the Consumer Project on Technology, the international point man in winning the patent-breaking Doha agreement and an unsung hero in the fight for cheap AIDS meds. The effect of these deals, Love says, is to force the poor countries into enacting "superpatents" that prolong U.S. drugmakers' monopolies and sharply limit the conditions under which their AIDS patents can be broken.
Though millions of lives are at stake in these sordid and lethal trade deals, the major U.S. AIDS organizations, like AIDS Action-which calls itself "the national voice of AIDS"-and the National Association of People With AIDS, have been AWOL from the fight against them. And since the AIDS advocates are silent, Washington can negotiate these murderous deals at economic gunpoint with little media notice.
I'm angry at our national AIDS groups for their isolationism, for their failure to lead a huge public outcry against the iniquitous Bush administration, which values Big Pharma's profits ahead of the lives or poor people with HIV.
Washington should not be allowed to tear up its commitments without any protest from those who pretend to speak for us on AIDS.

Dear "H"
Well, since you put it that way...
I stop to think all the time, my Brother, but unfortunately, I am not a "Bum" (as you profess to be), and I don't have time to chat all that much, especially since oftentimes "public/mainstream" discussions end up wasting a lot of time and causing an awful lot of emotional discharge on the part of those who are not very informed about alternative practices and research. I prefer to save my energy for those who are seriously interested in doing what it takes to get healthy, and they are usually those who come to me in private, outside the chat rooms. So I guess you are simply assuming you know how much response I actually get. Those who are here for "their virginity", for example, or for similar reasons have other things than healing on their minds.

Besides, I prefer to put the information out there and let others do their own homework. I have been holding people's hands a long time now in my own life. I am tired of babysitting; it is time for me to reach folks on a Mass Scale who are genuinely open to and interested in what will save their lives. This open-forum/head-to-head approach is oftentimes a way to mask people's real intentions of hooking up or getting laid, and has run its course for me. Now crucial time is running out. You are either open to my message, or you are not, in which case we both would be better off moving along in our separate ways.

There are just too many intellectual and emotional Vampires out there who prefer that others do their work for them, or who choose to hit the bottle or other recreational drugs and then complain that their healing is not getting them anywhere. This, unfortunately, is my experience as a healer, and as a Spiritual Counselor and Teacher. We all have a different path to follow. We have all made our own sacred contracts for our time on this Earth. Mine is not yours, any more than yours is mine. So whatever your judgments of me, or whatever you think about my methods, I respect, but that road ends there. Believe me, I will reach the ones whom I am supposed to reach in my own way. It is my Higher Purpose and Mission in this life, and nothing you say or do will alter its course. The Others have their own destiny, as I have mine. It is more importantly a matter of mutual respect, love and acceptance. Isn't that what the Gay Community has been hemming and hawing for since the 60's? It is time we learn to walk the talk, my friend, and put the petty criticisms and personal attacks aside. For what in your message to me today would give any indication that you wanted any more than to whine about some useless and trivial tidbit. If you had something meaningful to say, you sure missed the perfect opportunity to express it. My point is that this kind of "talk" is getting us nowhere--as a Group or as individuals. The time for action is now.

When I have the time to engage in fruitful or productive discussions--or if and when I find the need to rant about who did who and who heard what--then and only then I will engage. For now, I have a lot on my plate and I will leave that kind of stuff to the Others. Truth is, we have been discussing HIV and AIDS for twenty-some years now, but (despite having been published through the mainstream booksellers since 1993) the simple and most profound Truths I have tried to share with you and these Tribes did not come from the CDC, the Government, the Doctors (no matter how "Alternative"), the Pharmaceutical Companies, or even from our own Community Leaders. In fact, their lies and treatment methods of killing us in order to cure us are so old and outdated, even they have forgotten how to believe in them.

I will leave the others to contemplate a cure by allopathic means. In the meantime, I am living proof that THERE IS A VERY SIMPLE CURE TO HIV, AIDS, CANCER AND THE WHOLE LOT. It just takes a commitment to changing your lifestyle and your priorities to achieve it. Who among you is ready to accept a cure and all that it implies? Let him come to me with his queries. We can all start by taking responsibility for our life and everything in it--the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Nothing happens TO US. We choose by our actions and our every thought everything that comes into our lives. I don't need to talk that Horse to Death. It has been dead and resurrected for a good long while. Even New Physics has all but proven that Missing Link. The New Reality is knocking on the door. Maybe it takes people like you, "H", to help others open it and usher it in. The Future is Here Right Now. WE ARE THE LEADERS WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!

In the meantime, I will continue doing what I do best--Waking the Others to their Spiritual Power and Personal Authority, and Guiding them away from the Chains of Earthly Duality and Materialism. You just continue to do what it is that you do best, whatever that may be. I hope you don't mind if I share this discussion with others of the Tribes. They may just get something useful out of what I am saying. And consider this: if I were giving this information in order to "get" something from it, I would be missing the point of PURE CHARITY, now wouldn't I? That is simply not in my nature; nor is it my intention.

Mullins writes: No chronical of the world´s important drug firms would be complete without relating the connection between drug firms and the world drug operation known as ´Dope, Inc.´.

Mullins describes how the Rockefellers with the help of the American Medical Association and government officials gained control of America´s health care industry in the early part of this century. Educating medical students was instrumental in their plan, Mullins writes: Rockefeller´s Education Board has spent more than $100 million to gain control of the nation´s medical schools and turn our physicians to physicians of the allopathic school, dedicated to surgery and the heavy use of drugs.

MURDER BY INJECTION describes in detail the many other dangerous and lucrative rackets that the Rockefeller Syndicate has foistered onto the unsuspecting public and which are responsible for the contamination of our land, oceans and rivers, our water and food supplies, and our bodies. For example Mullins writes: While conducting wars of attrition against the leading exponents of better nutrition, the Food and Drug Administration and the American Medical Association have valiantly defended the use of chemical fertilizers... (which, according to Dr Alexis Carrel) ´without replacing all the exhausted elements of the soil, have indirectly contributed to change the nutritive value of cereal grains and vegetables.´

On vaccinations: After the use of cowpox vaccine became widespread in England, a smallpox epidemic broke out which killed 22,081 people. The smallpox epidemics became worse each year that the vaccine was used. In 1872, 44,480 people were killed by it. England finally banned the vaccine in 1948, despite the fact that it was one of the most widely heralded ´contributions´ which that country had made to modern medicine. This action came after many years of compulsory vaccination, during which period those who refused to submit to its dangers were hurried off to jail.

On fluoridation: What he [Oscar Ewing] wanted, and what he had been paid to bring about, was the national fluoridation of our drinking water... At the same time, Congressmen and other politicians in Washington were privately alerted by Ewing´s minions that they should be careful about ingesting the fluoridated water. Supplies of bottled water from mountain springs then appeared in every office on Capitol Hill; these have been maintained continuously ever since, at the taxpayers´ expense.

Someone is feeding you a big line of BS. Sounds like you are not ready for antiviral treatment. When you are ready to commit to taking lots of drugs for many many years, and prolonging your life and improving your damaged immune system, then start antiviral therapy.

Good luck. Try not to waste your money or delude yourself. We don't have all the answers, but one thing for sure, the stuff you are talking about is junk.

There are no published clinical trials in HIV patients that I am aware of. There a few papers that have been published that demonstrate test tube activity of spirulina against HIV.

****(meanwhile I found several starting from 1996 including statements by the National Cancer Institute and a patent pending backed by several qualified doctors and scientists not to mention the Japanese created Calcium-Spirulan Ca-SP and another from somewhere else called Cyanovirin-N)

Obviously not many are asking these questions but I found many studies and research regarding blue-green micro-algae in fighting HIV...

It is so obvious so many so called informants for this Virus have sold out its scarey... but I happy to know whatever I decide to med or not to med (pregnant so having to think seriously about it) that there are things like spirulina there to protect me, my kidneys, my liver, my cells etc. I'm aching to become a part of clinical studies involving spirulina is anyone aware of any?

The rediscovery of the power of shilajit is said to have been made by Himalayan villagers observing large white monkeys migrate to the mountains in the warm summer months. The monkeys were seen to be chewing a semi-soft substance that flowed from between layers of rock. The villagers attributed the monkey’s great strength, longevity and wisdom to the strange substance. They began to consume it themselves and reported a broad spectrum of improvements in health. It seemed to give them more energy, relieve digestive problems, Increase sex drive, improve memory and cognition, improve diabetes, reduce allergies, improve the quality and quantity of life and it seemed to cure all diseases.

The ancient Vedic text Rig Veda states that soma "has mountains and stones for its body" and "dwells within the mountainous rock where it grows." Mountainous rocks are the "abode of soma," and it is "plucked from between the rocks by mountain dwellers and brought to the priests-alchemists who prepared the soma by washing and grinding and cooking." Soma was considered the elixir of immortality, the secret substance used by alchemists to perfect both body and mind.

Shilajit must be harvested from sacred cliff sides high in the Himalayan Mountains of Nepal. Millions of years ago, before the Himalayas were formed, a lush garden flourished in a vast fertile valley. The vegetation in that primeval garden became trapped and preserved as the movement of the continents caused that valley to become the tallest mountain range in the world. Today, millions of years later the monsoon rains and extreme freeze and thaw conditions work together to crack large rock formations, exposing the precious shilajit. Because of its ancient nature, the vegetation was never exposed to any type of fertilizer, pesticide, herbicide, or pollution. The native Nepali people collect and carry this gift of nature down the mountain, where it is alchemically processed into a potent, high-quality extract.

This ancient wisdom was passed from generation to generation among the Indian and Nepali alchemists and holy men, but it escaped the notice of the Western medical establishment until the last days of the twentieth century, when explorer John Anderson heard of the amazing benefits of this substance and refused to give up the search until he found its source. He journeyed throughout India and Nepal until he learned of the perilous harvesting the raw shilajit from the cliffs. He also documented the reams of Sanskrit studies showing the rare plant's benefits. Summary of Scientific Studies of Shilajit

Over sixty years of clinical research have shown that shilajit has positive effects on humans. It increases longevity, improves memory and cognitive ability, reduces allergies and respiratory problems, reduces stress, and relieves digestive troubles. It is anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and eliminates free radicals. The research proves that shilajit increases immunity, strength, and endurance, and lives up to its ancient reputation as the "destroyer of weakness."

Technically, shilajit is an exudate that is pressed out from layers of rock in the most sacred and highest mountains in Nepal and other areas. It is composed of humus and organic plant material that has been compressed by layers of rock. Humus is formed when soil microorganisms decompose animal and plant material into elements usable by plants. Plants are the source of all our food and humus is the source of plant food. Unlike other soil humus, shilajit humus consists of 60-80% organic mass.

About 200 million years ago, India was a large island off the Australian coast separated from the Eurasian continent by the Tethys Sea. The Indian continent drifted north at a rate of about 9 meters a century. This movement lead to the eventual disappearance of the Tethys sea. Fifty million years ago, the Indian continent collided with the Asian continent. This caused the sea bed of the Tethys sea to be pushed up and keep moving up to eventually form the Himalayan mountains. The Himalayan mountains continue to rise more than 1 Centimeter a year. During this transition the mineral rich and fertile soil of the sea bed gave rise to a lush and dense tropical jungle. As the ground continued to be pushed up to become mountains a lot of the plants became trapped by layers of rock and soil and remained preserved for thousands of years. These plants had never been exposed to any chemicals, fertilizers or pesticides. They are gradually transformed into humus, a rich organic mass that is food for new plant life.

What are humic substances? They are the sum total of all once living organisms, mostly plants, disassembled by nature’s brilliant decomposition and recycling processes, then highly refined by millions of species of beneficial soil-based microorganisms. Ultimately, microscopic plants such as yeast, algae, mold, fungi, etc., finish up the process. These tiny beneficial plants refine, purify, combine, and re-refine, until tons of once-living matter are converted to pounds and ounces. Yet miraculously, when it is all said and done, the end product is not inert basic "dead" mineral elements, but is transformed into the world’s most complex and ultra-compact molecules. Even the nucleic acids, RNA and DNA, of the earlier life-forms remains intact. The molecules are ultra-condensed and highly functional, rolled up into tight little balls that are supercharged biochemical and phytochemical powerplants, similar to storage batteries or fuel cells. Where did this supercharged power come from? It is sunshine light energy captured during plant photosynthesis, and through decomposition it is converted and stored within the interior of the world’s most refined and complex molecules.

Humic substances are considered nature's own best medicine for plants, animals, humans, and the Earth itself. This lowly soil substance has the ability to clean up the Earth’s environment, neutralize radiation and deadly toxins, heal the agricultural lands, fuel the spark of life in living organisms, disarm and kill infectious pathogens, destroy the deadliest viruses, prevent most, if not all diseases, and even cure and restore diseased and damaged tissues and organs in plants, animals, and man.

Buckminster Fuller, one of America’s best known thinkers of the twentieth century, helps us to understand plant energy accumulation from photosynthesis. Visualize if you will, a log burning in the fireplace. When asked "what is fire" Buckminster explained, in a rather lengthy discourse, that fire is the Sun’s radiation unwinding, each growth-ring of the tree’s log representing a year. He explained that many years of the Sun’s flame winding through the sky, absorbed by the tree through photosynthesis, is now unwinding in the burning log. With a log of firewood, lump of coal, oil, natural gas, or gasoline, all of which are remnants of once living plants, it is easy to see and understand solar energy storage and release. With the humic substances, it is not so clear to see because they don’t readily burn.

Humic substances are found in rich humus soil in trace amounts. They are also found in massive ancient plant deposits, never truly fossilized, still remaining completely organic. What makes their stored solar energy so different? The key is found in nature’s decomposition and refining process. The energy is converted into a different form. Coal, oil, tar, natural gas, and uranium deposits, all are "dead" inorganic remnants of ancient plants. Uranium mines, just like coal mines and tar pits, also have fossilized trees, leaves, and dinosaur bones, all remnants of ancient life turned to rock.

Uranium ore is rock, and doesn’t burn, or does it? Ponder how a few pounds of seemingly inert refined uranium ore has the power to fuel the reactor in a nuclear power plant, or become an atomic bomb. Where is all of that energy stored? The power is deep within complex molecules, and is released through nuclear fission, the splitting of the atom’s nucleus. Could there be a similarity to the seemingly inert humic substances? Humic substances are not radioactive, but quickly and effectively neutralize radiation. This is well established and extensively documented. Where does that nuclear energy go? Could it be that controlled nuclear fusion is taking place, the joining of atoms’ nuclei?

It is certain that a different form of equally intense latent solar light energy is found deep within the humic substance molecules. The many rare earth superconductor elements that humic substances contain may provide some clues. Humic substances have the amazing power to molecularly bond with, and transform, other molecules and substances, liquefying them, making them smaller, more condensed, and energizing them. The varieties of smaller, more recognizable, molecules found within the highly complex humic molecules, read like the "who’s who" of the many pharmaceutical and nutritional breakthroughs of the last century. Many of the substances are the current focus of the most promising ongoing medical and health research studies.

In a nutshell, humic substances consist of an immense arsenal and array of powerful phytochemicals, biochemicals, supercharged antioxidants, free-radical scavengers, super oxide dismutases, nutrients, enzymes, hormones, amino acids, antibiotics, antivirals, antifungals, etc. Many of the substances that make up humic matter have yet to be discovered and catalogued among the known and documented organic chemicals.

Due to microbial action and the tremendous pressure from the weight of the Himalayan mountains, the ancient humus was transformed into a dense, viscous, mineral rich mass. This is shilajit. The trapped layers of shilajit become exposed due to the freezing winters, hot summer sun and erosion from monsoon rains. Shilajit will “flow” out from between the cracks in the layers of rock during the summer when the temperature of the mountains gets warm enough and the shilajit becomes less viscous. The native Nepali people them climb the mountains, repel down cliffs to collect the magical substance.

The therapeutic actions of the raw material vary by the region it is harvested from. There are other substances that contain humic and fulvic acids, but true shilajit has a very important therapeutic, bioactive ingredient that is not present in other "shilajit-like" substances. The authenticity and therapeutic quality of shilajit is identified by the inclusion of oxygenated di-benzo alpha pyrones. Lomatium dissectum

What can you folks tell me about Lomatium dissectum, also known as Biscuit Root? I did a monograph on it, so I know something already, but I'm sure there is more and that one or more of you guys know it. I know it is under-researched, native to the Pacific Northwest, was used for food, kept people alive during the flu epidemic of 1918, and contains a chemical called suksdorfin (no kidding!!) that may have anti-HIV properties. Can anyone elaborate?

Corn Subsistense and African AIDS...

Corn which a majority of Africans do... Ironically identical to AIDS diagnosis... including skin lesions and wasting... due to a Niacin deficiency... Most poor africans live on Corn Meal... Maize Meal... etc. could a majority of African aids diagnosis be a vitamin deficiency... ahhh the blatent bullshit of the establishment! I wander which of these are able to be donated? I wonder how much I would be worth dead? As a sum of all my donatable sellable parts. I wonder if the exspensive St. Jude heart valve & material they replaced the lower part of my aortic stem with could be donated & re-used? Hmm. now I want to find out how much it was on my bill. I remember (but could be wrong) someone telling me or me looking at the invoice breakdown of costs. I think the valve itself cost 64,000. The entire operation was 189,000. With my benefits I only had to pay 1,750. Since then the bills probably amount to btwn another 150 - 250,000 of which I have paid less than 1,000 dollars. You'd think I'd be more grateful. 03/39/06 will be the 4 year anniversary of my heart surgery. On this day I want to quit smoking forever, start eating better, drink less than 4 beers once a week, work out, etc........I want you to hold me to it. : )

Overview
AIDS (Acquired Immuno-Deficiency Syndrome) is an autoimmune disease that can be accompanied by a wide range of other symptoms and opportunistic infections. When any of these opportunistic infections include a positive diagnosis of the HIV virus, a patient is said to have AIDS. AIDS is controversial, in this respect, because of how widely AIDS symptoms can vary, both in terms of how it manifests around the globe, and also how it affects different risk groups.

In the United States and Europe, the most common characteristics of AIDS are Kaposi's sarcoma (a type of cancer), pneumocystis pneumonia, candidiasis, and mycobacterial infections such as tuberculosis, toxoplasmosis (a disease caused by protozoa that damages the central nervous system, eyes, and internal organs), cytomegalovirus, and the herpes virus. Other symptoms often associated with AIDS include diarrhea, weight loss, night sweats, fevers, rashes, and swollen lymph glands.

The Problem with Defining AIDS: In January 1993, the original defining criteria for AIDS was changed by researchers at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Prior to that time, to be diagnosed with AIDS, patients had to exhibit one or more of 25 symptoms listed by the CDC, and also be HIV-positive. In 1993, the CDC added three new conditions to this list—cancer of the cervix, bacterial pneumonia, and tuberculosis—which, when accompanied by HIV, is now considered to be AIDS. The effect of this decision dramatically and, some claim, artificially inflated the statistics of people who have AIDS. In the U.S. alone, the figures immediately rose from 250,000 to 400,000, causing noted epidemiologist, Gordon Stewart, M.D. of England to ask, "Will any woman with cervicitis, any man with urethritis, prostatitis, genitourinary cancer or any cancer, or perhaps severe infection, or any other unspecified, wasting or multiple disease, who happens to be HIV-positive, be diagnosed and registered as having AIDS and treated for HIV disease just because those in the business can expand their domain across any diagnostic code and scruple?"

Adding to the problem of defining AIDS are the stark differences between the groups said to be most at risks for contracting AIDS. For example, Kaposi's sarcoma is 20 times more common in gay men with AIDS than in all other American AIDS patients. By contrast, tuberculosis (TB) is the primary AIDS symptoms among intravenous drug users. In Africa, AIDS is not categorized according to risk groups because it seems to evenly occur among the population and between the sexes. AIDS symptoms among Africans are chiefly diarrhea, wasting, fever, and persistent cough. All of these symptoms have been quite common in Africa for many decades, well before AIDS began to be defined, and are also the primary symptoms of most other tropical diseases.

Because of such discrepancies, much confusion and dissent remain about what AIDS really is and even whether it can accurately be classified as a distinct disease. The common factor in all the symptoms and disease conditions associated with AIDS is HIV. If patients with these symptoms and conditions test positive for HIV, they are said to have AIDS. If they test HIV-negative, they are said to be AIDS-free even if they have the same symptoms and other disease conditions as HIV+ patients. This has led to a kind of diagnostic discrepancy that is not found for any other type of disease. Further compounding the problem is the fact that some scientists, researchers, physicians, and other health care practitioners dispute whether or not HIV even causes AIDS, a question that is considered heretical by the AIDS establishment, which focuses all of its efforts in developing drugs and vaccines that target and destroy the HIV virus. Critics of this approach point out that such drugs and vaccines are in themselves highly toxic and may in fact be causing many of the symptoms associated with AIDS. Rather than focusing on HIV, these dissenting health experts argue, the focus should be instead on educating people about risk factors that are common among AIDS patients, such as recreational and pharmaceutical drugs, unprotected sex, exposure to bacterial infections, and, especially in Africa and other Third World countries, malnutrition, dysentery and contaminated drinking water.

The HIV Debate: Although the AIDS establishment insists that HIV is the sole or primary cause of AIDS, there is no clear cut scientific evidence that this is actually so. Although most people with AIDS also test positive for HIV, that in and of itself is not proof that HIV actually is the cause of AIDS. Critics of the HIV=AIDS hypothesis argue that the evidence that HIV causes AIDS remains tenuous and circumstantial, at best.

One of the main critics of the HIV=AIDS hypothesis is molecular biologist Peter Duesberg, Ph.D., Professor of Molecular and Cell Biology at the University of California at Berkeley. In 1987, Dr. Duesberg rejected the HIV=AIDS hypothesis in the journal Cancer Research. Dr. Duesberg is a world-renowned scientist and long-standing member of the National Academy of Sciences, and one of the world's foremost experts on retroviruses - a class of viruses to which HIV belongs. After reviewing every paper on HIV and AIDS published up until that time, Dr. Duesberg concluded that HIV was a "harmless," latent, inactive virus, incapable of infecting more than a few immune cells. Based on his research, Dr. Duesberg even said that he "wouldn't mind being injected with it."

As a result of his published paper and openly espoused views, Dr. Duesberg suddenly found himself cut off from every source of research funding that he applied for. Prior to his rejection of the HIV=AIDS hypothesis, by contrast, he received grant money for every researcher project to which he applied. In essence, the AIDS establishment has done all that it can to marginalize Dr. Duesberg's research about HIV and AIDS by cutting off his livelihood as a once prominent scientific researcher. Despite their attempts, however, Dr. Duesberg's views continue to attract the attention of and be accepted by growing numbers of other well-respected scientists, researchers, and physicians.

Adding to Dr. Duesberg's views is the fact that growing numbers of AIDS patients with severe immune suppression, who test negative for HIV, are being reported. According to Dr. Duesberg, there may be as many as 5,000 such cases. A basic tenet of diagnostic medicine, known as Koch's Postulate, states that, for a causative factor (such as a virus, bacterium, or parasite) to be considered a definite cause of a disease, it has to be clearly present in all cases of the disease. Clearly, this is not the case with HIV in relationship to all AIDS patients.

But perhaps the most striking point of Dr. Duesberg's rejection of the HIV=AIDS hypothesis is that HIV demonstrates very little direct cell-killing activity. In fact, when Dr. Duesberg viewed HIV under a microscope, amidst lymphocytes (cells important in the creation of antibodies), the virus didn't move at all and the cells remained perfectly intact despite being in its presence. According to Dr. Duesberg, this was normal and to be expected because, "Retroviruses are not typically cytocidal, that is, they do not kill cells." But AIDS establishment counters that direct cell killing is not necessary for the acceptance of the HIV=AIDS hypothesis, claiming that HIV kills cells by one of several highly complex indirect mechanisms. Dr. Duesberg contests that there is no evidence for any of these elaborate mechanisms and that HIV is far too simple genetically to perform these feats. Harvey Bialy, M.D., another well-respected researcher who rejects the HIV=AIDS hypothesis, agrees with Dr. Duesberg, pointing out that, "HIV is an ordinary retrovirus. It only contains a very small piece of genetic information. There's no way it can do all these elaborate things they say it does."

Another problem with the HIV=AIDS hypothesis are the HIV tests themselves. The most common methods of testing for HIV are the Western Blot and ELISA (enzyme-linked immunoserological assay) tests, both of which measure antibodies to HIV, not the HIV virus itself, and both of which can be inaccurate. In the case of the ELISA test, HIV antibodies are often detected in patients who in actuality are not infected by the virus, usually as a result of a stress response. As for the Western Blot test, it is not standardized, meaning that a positive HIV test in one country would not necessarily be considered positive in another country. In addition, antibodies to a variety of viruses, bacteria, and other antigens can cross-react with antigens in the tests potentially leading to false-positive test results. Other conditions that can produce false-positive results are immunizations, herpes, hepatitis, tuberculosis, malaria, parasites, alcoholism and liver disease, pregnancy, and infection with mycobacterium or yeasts.

Finally, though many people do become infected with HIV, a great deal of evidence indicates that a healthy immune system can keep it from causing damage. As a result, even holistic practitioners who do not reject the HIV=AIDS hypothesis outright, still focus their efforts on boosting the immune system rather than seeking to destroy HIV with drugs that can cause harmful side-effects, such as the drugs recommended by the AIDS establishment.

Symptoms of AIDS
Full-blown AIDS is usually accompanied by a steady decline in CD4 immune cells, which in a state of health, should be between 900 and 1,600, but in AIDS patients can drop to as low as zero. Another factor usually associated with AIDS is a drop in T4 cells, which are also integral to proper immune function. The drop in CD4 and T4 cells is then usually followed by any one or more of 28 symptoms associated with AIDS, including Kaposi's sarcoma, pneumocystis pneumonia, candidiasis, tuberculosis, toxoplasmosis, cytomegalovirus, the herpes virus, diarrhea, weight loss, night sweats, fevers, rashes, swollen lymph glands, and certain kinds of cancer.

Causes of AIDS
Although the medical establishment insists that AIDS is caused by the HIV virus, holistic health care practitioners realize that other factors are equal, and perhaps more important in terms of how AIDS is caused. Such factors include the use of illegal drugs, especially stimulants such as amyl nitrates ("poppers") and injected heroin (as well as the sharing of unclean needles by drug users); the chronic use of pharmaceutical drugs, including antibiotics, which destroy healthy flora in the gastrointestinal tract, thereby setting the stage for the invasion and proliferation of harmful microorganisms; poor or malnutrition; contaminated vaccines for diseases such as hepatitis B; tainted blood transfusions; contaminated drinking water; exposure to toxic pollutants; and chronic states of unhealthy emotions, such as stress, fear and despair.

The AIDS drug AZT and, to a lesser extent, protease inhibitors, have also been known to cause AIDS-like symptoms. In addition to its known ability to severely suppress immunity, AZT has also been shown to suppress important health-related tasks of bone marrow, thereby causing anemia, neutropenia (abnormally small number of neutrophils in blood, a white blood cell that protects against infection) and leukopenia (abnormal decrease in white blood corpuscles) in up to half of all people who use the drug. Other side effects of AZT include muscle wasting, extreme nausea, acute hepatitis, headaches, insomnia, dementia, seizures, and the appearance of cancerous lymphomas, all of which are also symptoms associated with AIDS itself.

As for protease inhibitors, although they are not as toxic as AZT, they too, are not without side effects. Furthermore, in order to be effective, they need to be taken in high doses, which can increase their toxicity over time. The body quickly develops resistance to protease inhibitors, as well, eventually making them ineffective. Some of the severe side effects known to be caused by protease inhibitors include chronic diarrhea, vomiting, fatigue, headaches, and fever.

Natural Cures

While conventional AIDS treatment focuses almost entirely on targeting and eliminating HIV, holistic health care practitioner focus instead on restoring health by addressing dietary and nutritional deficiencies, boosting immune function, and addressing unhealthy lifestyle factors and unresolved psychological issues of their AIDS patients. As a result, many long-term AIDS and HIV survivors continue to experience good health by working with alternative physicians, even when they still test positive for HIV.

Acupuncture: Acupuncture has been shown to be an effective and vital tool for the treatment of HIV infection and AIDS, particularly when used in conjunction with other alternative therapies. Studies indicate that acupuncture helps to increase immune function and T-cell production, and can also help ease many of the symptoms related to HIV infection and AIDS. Among the benefits commonly achieved by acupuncture for AIDS patients are reduction in fatigue, abnormal sweating, diarrhea, and acute skin reactions, typically after only 4-6 acupuncture treatments. Many AIDS patients also report an improved sense of well-being and, in some cases, healthy weight gain and improved stamina, allowing them to resume normal daily activities.

Acupuncture has also been shown by numerous clinical studies to increase T-cell counts. According to Michael Smith, M.D., who conducted one of the studies, T-cell ratios in some AIDS patients rose dramatically over a 2-3 month period due to acupuncture alone. In one such study, involving 200 patients with AIDS, acupuncture was also found to be capable of reducing levels of secondary opportunistic infections. Another study, conducted at Lincoln Memorial Hospital in New York City, 20 out of 27 people with AIDS who received acupuncture treatments experienced a reduction in their fatigue symptoms, night sweats, and diarrhea after 1-3 weeks. Many of the patients also experienced healthy weight gain. In another study, 15 patients who received regular treatment at Somerville Centre, near Boston experienced improvements in their general symptoms and for six of them, acupuncture helped reduce side effects of conventional medical treatment for Kaposi's sarcoma.

Jay Holder, M.D., D.C., Ph.D. of Miami, Florida, has achieved significant results using acupuncture. He describes the case of a man with AIDS, suffering from Kaposi's sarcoma, and given just 22 months to live. Within three weeks of treatment with acupuncture and Chinese herbs, his T-cell count returned to normal and his lesions disappeared.

Aromatherapy: Tea tree oil and garlic oil can both be helpful for improving immune function and for helping to protect against opportunistic infections.

Diet: The following dietary guidelines should be followed by all AIDS patients: Eat, organic whole foods with as many essential nutrients and as few additives as possible, concentrating on fresh, organic vegetables, fruits, and proteins (fish and meat). Avoid all processed foods, and eliminate refined carbohydrates (sugars, white flour, pastries), replacing them with complex carbohydrates such as whole grains and beans that are rich in nutrients. Also reduce polyunsaturated and saturated fats and oils, using monounsaturated oils (such as olive oil) and omega-3s (fish oils) instead.

Eat smaller portions of food more frequently throughout the day to optimize absorption of nutrients, and try to keep your food intake balanced. The following guidelines are ideal: 65% complex carbohydrates (vegetables, fruits, and grains), 15% protein (fish, yogurt, eggs, and meat), and 20% fat. Also ensure that the fruits and vegetables you eat are clean and free of bacteria and parasites. For best results, steam them lightly before you eat them.

Be sure to also screen for and eliminate all foods to which you may be allergic or sensitive, and abstain from all sources of chocolate, caffeine, and alcohol.

Candidiasis, or systemic yeast overgrowth, is common among AIDS patients. Therefore, your diet needs to be free of all simple carbohydrates and sugars. You should also regularly consume anti-fungal foods, such as garlic and olive oil, along with specific substances that kill the yeast, such as caprylic acid (a fatty acid) and aloe vera. In addition, cultured raw dairy products such as raw kefir and live low-fat yogurt, as well as probiotic supplements such as Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacteria and L. bulgaricus are recommended for their anti-fungal and antibiotic properties.

Herbal Medicine: The use of herbal medicines in the treatment of AIDS is widespread. Useful herbs include astragalus, Carnivora (Venus' flytrap), echinacea, garlic, isatis root, licorice, goldenseal, hyssop, and St John's wort. Aloe vera can also be effective. An extract of mannose, one of the sugars in aloe, has been found to inhibit HIV-1 ( strain of the HIV virus). In one study, HIV-1 cells were treated in vitro with the mannose extract. Aloe slowed virus reproduction by as much as 30%, reduced viral load, suppressed the spread of the virus from infected cells, and increased the viability (chance of survival) of infected cells. Researchers found that aloe stimulates the body's immune system, particularly T4 helper cells (white blood cells that activate the immune response to infection).

Chinese bitter melon, monolaurin (a component of certain fatty acids), and lentinan (extract of shiitake mushrooms) have also shown dramatic anti-HIV effects, and red clover tops, chaparral, dandelion, sarsparilla, and pau d'arco, taken in combination, can also be helpful.

Since the early 1980s, bitter melon fruits and seeds have been tested as an effective therapy for cancer and HIV. At the Amsterdam International Conference on AIDS in 1992, Quingcai Zhang, a Chinese medical doctor and herbalist, presented data of a study he conducted using bitter melon. In Dr. Zhang's study, those who took bitter melon for four months to three years had CD4 counts increase between 33% and 285%. His findings showed that, in most cases, it normalized T4-to-T8 ratios, raised T4 counts over time, and increased energy and sense of well being. Dr. Zhang also noted that bitter melon blocked HIV-infected macrophages (immune cells that recognize and ingest foreign antigens)—something AZT does not do—as well as infected lymphocytes such as CD4 cells.

Bitter melon extracts or decoctions can be taken orally or rectally. A rectal retention enema is recommended, because the plant is very bitter and unpleasant to drink and may cause nausea. Using an enema also avoids the breakdown of the bitter melon proteins in the stomach acid, allowing them to instead be absorbed directly into the bloodstream through the large intestine.

Homeopathic Growth Factors: Homeopathic growth factors are a type of homeopathic remedy prepared from growth factors, a class of more than 30 protein substances known as polypeptides that regulate cell growth and division, and make possible inter- and intracellular communication as well as cell specialization. They can also transmit signals that trigger events between cells that change the way a cell uses DNA, resulting in appropriate cellular response to external events.

The therapeutic use of homeopathic growth factors have been shown to hold promise as a method for reversing the weight loss and immune dysfunction associated with AIDS, according to Barbara Brewitt, Ph.D. Dr.Brewitt has worked with a growth factor solution prepared by genetic engineering that was then prepared as various homeopathic dilutions of the growth factor substances. In a 12-month clinical trial with 30 AIDS patients using the homeopathic growth factors, Dr. Brewitt found that the patients experienced an average weight gain of almost ten pounds, as well as total absence of opportunistic infections. Moreover, the patients' CD4 cell counts either remained stable or only increased slightly, and there was a corresponding decrease in their degree of viral infection.

Hyperthermia: Hyperthermia involves artificially creating fever in the body for the purpose of boosting immune function. Hyperthermia can be a highly effective method of eliminating toxins and heavy metals, as well as infectious bacteria and viruses that cannot survive in elevated body temperatures. Research has shown that AIDS is heat-sensitive and will become increasingly inactive as body temperature is raised progressively above normal (98.6 degrees Fahrenheit) for extended periods of time. Additionally, sweating is very cleansing for the body's largest eliminative organ, the skin. Because of its power to detoxify, some holistic practitioners, especially Naturopathic Doctors, make hyperthermia a central feature of their treatment protocol. Hyperthermia is often done occasionally as an immune boosting home treatment, or in conjunction with a specific cleanse. In the case of a more serious condition it is possible to combine hyperthermia with long periods of bed rest as part of a deeper detoxifying protocol.

Research shows that massage helps to create a safe environment in which emotions relating to issues such as death, dying, and sadness can emerge to be healed. It can also act as a catalyst that reinforces touching and hugging in daily life, bringing about improvements in terms of a person's self-image and self-esteem, as well as reducing any sense of isolation and loneliness.

The resulting stress reduction derived from massage therapy can have a powerful immune-enhancing effect, according to research conducted at the Touch Research Institute, University of Miami School of Medicine, which found increased natural killer (NK) cell activity and other immune system improvements to be directly related to massage therapy.

Important: People with AIDS who receive massage often have specific needs. The massage should not be too fast or too deep, to ensure that the adrenal gland system is not over-stimulated, which can challenge the immune system. The person giving the massage should instead use gentle touch and focus on relaxation, comfort, and nurturing, instead of dealing with postural problems.

Mind/Body Medicine: There is an absolutely vital relationship between a person's emotional state and their immune system. This is especially true in cases of AIDS and HIV infection, where the mind/body relationship has a profound impact on whether patients maintain or recover their health, or experience a further decline. Tremendous negative mental and emotional burdens are usually placed on patients when they are initially diagnosed as being HIV-positive or having AIDS, due to the fears surrounding such a diagnosis. This can hinder the commitment they need to make to restore themselves to health. Cultivating a positive spiritual, mental, and emotional attitude that is based upon self-responsibility and self-reliance is a key aspect of any alternative healing approach for HIV infection and AIDS.

Emotions such as guilt, hopelessness, suppressed anger, and fear add to the burden of the immune system. Fortunately, most negative emotions can be easily resolved with a little effort and attention. Any stress-coping strategy that reduces these negative influences, such as relaxation exercises, meditation, visualization, psychotherapeutic counseling, support groups, and prayer, can help boost immune function. This has been proven scientifically in many research studies.

Jon Kaiser, M.D. of San Francisco, California, specializes in the practice of alternative therapies and the mind/body connection, and treats a high percentage of patients who are HIV-positive. As an integral part of his approach for dealing with AIDS and HIV, Dr. Kaiser emphasizes to his patients the following points: AIDS is not a death sentence. By beginning a comprehensive, alternative, healing program early, patients can reasonably expect to live out their normal life span. Maintaining a positive attitude is essential for this process. Panic or succumbing to the negative messages that the media and the medical establishment promote needs to be avoided at all costs, and getting appropriate help in doing so (counseling, support groups, etc.) can pay big dividends in terms of health and longevity.

Janet Konefal, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Miami School of Medicine, employs a counseling protocol aimed at "expanding limiting beliefs and altering behaviors among HIV-positive individuals." She stresses how important it is for the therapist to gradually guide AIDS patients whose negative mental state may carry images of past illness and loss, as well as poor images of future prospects in terms of health, happiness, and survival, to a position of self-empowerment in which positive, hopeful images can start to regularly replace these negative images.

In order to achieve this shift, Dr. Konefal employs techniques that incorporate symbolism, imagery, and goal-setting in a structured and individualized manner. "The result is that the patient's dark, morbid, immuno-suppressing thoughts give way to light, life-affirming thoughts that foster the will to live and create an emotionally stronger and more optimistic individual," she says.

Nutritional Supplements: Nutritional supplementation has been shown in clinical studies to offer great benefits to people already seriously ill with AIDS, and is essential for full recovery. People who are HIV-positive or diagnosed with AIDS are most commonly deficient in the following essential nutrients: vitamin A, pyridoxine (B6), folate, vitamin B12, selenium, and zinc.

Other useful nutrients include: beta carotene, vitamin B complex, thiamin (B1), riboflavin (B2), pantothenic acid (B5), vitamin C, and vitamin E. Folic acid, biotin, potassium, magnesium, and manganese are also recommended, as are free form amino acids, glutathione, and essential fatty acids (particularly omega-3s and omega-6s). N-acetyl-cysteine and lipoic acid can also be helpful, as can garlic and garlic capsules.

Oxygen Therapies: Oxygen therapy is considered by many holistic physicians to be the safest and most effective method of treating AIDS and its associated infections. Oxygen therapy uses hyperbaric oxygen, ozone, or hydrogen peroxide to combat HIV in much the same way as the immune system uses self-generated oxygen free radicals (a single oxygen atom) to destroy bacterial and viral infections. The extra oxygen atoms in ozone (O3) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) break off and link with the invading molecules, altering their molecular structure, in effect killing the harmful cells and leaving behind only oxygen (O2) or water (H2O).

In one study, when HIV-infected blood was removed from the body and treated with ozone, the virus was completely deactivated in the test subjects. Another approach used by holistic physicians is to simply inject a diluted form of ozone into the bloodstream. This treatment can be done daily for several weeks at a time. French researchers Bertrand Vallancien and Jean-Marie Winkler studied ozone therapy with a group of patients with HIV, herpes, and hepatitis. After nine weeks of transfused ozone, T4 and T8 cells moved toward normal levels in all cases and the ozone treatments caused no problems. Ozone has also been found to be effective for AIDS-related diarrhea. German researchers use bioluminescence (the radiation of blood with ultraviolet light) in conjunction with ozone therapy to treat viral and other infections.

Hydrogen peroxide, like ozone, can be administered intravenously and can also be taken rectally by enema, vaginally, or transcutaneously (absorption by bathing). The late Charles H. Farr, M.D., Ph.D., a leading specialist in the use of hydrogen peroxide therapy, recommended the intravenous method of delivery. Other doctors use combinations of ozone and hydrogen peroxide and report equally good results as well, because of a synergistic response in the cells. Although hydrogen peroxide can also be taken orally, Dr. Farr did not recommend doing so because of how the enzymes of the stomach are unable to process it properly.

Since 1990, Michelle Reillo, B.S.N., R.N., has been treating AIDS patients with hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT—pure oxygen delivered for 30-60 minutes to patients inside a sealed chamber with high pressure) at Lifeforce Hyperbaric Oxygen Institute, in Baltimore, Maryland. Reillo and her colleagues concentrate on providing relief and reversing many of the complications associated with HIV infection or AIDS diagnosis. "Hyperbaric medicine has well-documented evidence supporting its use in many AIDS-defining complications and infections, regardless of the underlying disorder," Reillo says. "HBOT would be an ideal intervention in the individual recently infected with HIV, because it decreases viremia (viruses in the blood), is not toxic to the individual, and decreases the microvascular and neurovascular (small blood vessel) damage occurring as the initial infection progresses throughout the body."

HBOT has demonstrated its effectiveness in relieving peripheral vascular insufficiency. This means a reduced supply of blood to the feet and hands, leaving them cold and frequently painful. Reillo reports that, over a three-year period, 100 AIDS patients with this problem have received considerable benefit after receiving only two weeks of HBOT (three treatments per week). First among the symptoms to improve was fatigue, then an increase in the ability to exercise and tolerate activity, followed by a warming of the extremities, an increase in energy, and less pain in the legs and feet following activity. The level of oxygen in the tissues climbed from a low 79% to a healthy 98%, adds Reillo.

HBOT performs well as an adjunct to conventional antibiotic regimens for AIDS patients, Reillo explains. This is especially so in the area of opportunistic infections such as Mycobacterium avium complex, a deadly form of tuberculosis that attacks the bone marrow. This complication affects up to 20% of AIDS patients. Getting more oxygen invariably stimulates the appetite and the patients want to eat more, says Reillo. "Oxygen makes you hungry," she says. With appetite improvement, Reillo counsels AIDS patients on the details of a well-balanced, nutritionally rich diet. "The healthier you eat, the less likely you are to lose weight and develop infections," she states.

One of the most serious consequences of AIDS is the dangerously low level of T cells, but here again HBOT is helpful, says Reillo. Over the course of four months of HBOT, Reillo was able to get a woman's T cells to climb from 400 to 800; even better, her CD4 count doubled.

While the oxygen free radicals generated in oxygen therapy are deadly to viruses and bacteria, they can also do damage to healthy tissues if left unchecked. When the body manufactures these oxygen-based defense substances, it follows this immediately by sending protective antioxidant enzymes to quench the process before harm to healthy tissue can take place. Nutritional support is generally recommended with any oxygen therapy, particularly vitamin C supplementation, which acts as a stabilizing antioxidant.

a general extension for help

The reason I added this tribe was to maybe get some help. This is kind of hard to write and ask from strangers but a mother's grief and fear and want for her child will drive them to ask things from strangers that she normally wouldnt.

I agree that this world has become a fairly toxic place and that mother earth is pissed, but my son is 3 years old and is an innocent bystander. My little boy was diagnosed with leukemia last September. For those of you who dont know what it is, its cancer of the bone marrow/white blood cells. I am seeking treatment at st judes in memphis. I feel sometimes like he is a guienea pig and that cancer is just another million dollar industry but its the best resource I have in the area.

I guess what I am asking is for some advice on natural foods and things to help boost his immune system. I already have him on a low bacteria diet and this helps alot. I was also curious if some of you have been through a similar situation and might share some ensight in ways to cope...and if nothing else to please send some positive energy my son's way. It would be most appreciated.

The moment I feared... Seeking Inspiration

Well the plot thickens... Returned from africa two weeks ago with my eight year old after finding out I was pregnant from a broken condom... had approached the concerns regarding that ... as I was in rural africa... came home to get pre-natal care and was notified by my doctor yesterday that the western blot has come up positive for HIV. My blood results come monday and have notified all people I could to send out the vibes... (my mom thinks she can cure cancer with the power of her mind and her guides my adopted grand ma has notified the prayer line and most importantly I am trying to keep the positive attitude so maybe there is hope) Yet there is still harsh realities at the end of the day. I have always approached disease and illness with an eastern philosophy... and am trying to look at the best possible persepective for longevity another thing I have studied over the years...

not to mention apparently for the baby to be born HIV negative I will have to start taking retro-viral drugs in about four weeks. I have never trusted pharmacuetical or modern medicine outside of diagnotstics and diagnosis... but I want to live... want the baby to be ok... and need to do the best possible thing to keep life going until they are on thier feet in many years. Any insight... inspiration...encouragment...information and connections is greatly appreciated! It seems not a whole lot of doctors endorse the alternatives...not alot of long held studies of the alternative routes... though in my personal studies over the years I have gotten many aspects of healing instruction and info from eastern philosophies that have helped me with many things and in reading about HIV in those books it had me questioning the mainstream definitions of the nature and treatment of this disease... I suppose now I will have to test them first hand. I'm a first amongst my friends and they are supportive which is great but talking to people who are dealing with this themselves seems to be a priority for me at the moment for understanding what I am up against. I have apparently been detected very early which I suppose is a positive but my main concern is to do the most effective possible thing... but not at the risk of killing myself through experimental medication. Thanks for any words you can offer...

There has been loads of research on the benefits of Spirulina and blue green micro-algae as a treatment if not cure... to top all that it also helps detoxify the liver and kidneys which can be a great help in reducing those side effects/damage. Check it out... I'm definitely going for it... and will refuse any meds that don't allow it as its seemingly the only thing I have found thus far that seems to give me hope on meds and off.

To date, you and President Wagner have chosen to ignore any letters or e-mails about this topic. It has not escaped our notice you participated in a public discussion about animal experiments on the television show, 'Third Thursday’ with Sally Mackler, the late Cleveland Amory and Jack Carone----all of whom oppose using animals in research and none of which are medical doctors.

It is also well-known that Emory/Yerkes staged a gathering a few years ago for approximately 150 people, many of which where connected with the media to discuss this topic, none of which were trained medical professionals who disagree with you or the Emory administration.

We seem to have detected a pattern here. You are ready, willing and able to discuss this topic with students (the leverage there quite apparent), those with whom you agree, and those with no medical training.

We would once again like to issue the same invitation.

The discussion would be limited exclusively to the scientific merits of non-human experimental models. Animal rights, ethics and other non-scientific issues would not qualify for discussion in this forum. Only trained, medical professionals would be invited to participate. Cat Experiments at Emory

Richard Nichols' NIH grant continues thru 2007.

Richard Nichols' decerebrate cat experiments began in 1983 and have been duplicated around the country numerous times and is described in the February 1999 issue of the Journal of Neurophysiology which has included 32 cats that were used to study muscle reflexes. The cat's throats are pierced so a tube can keep them breathing during the experiment. Nichols severs the brain from the spinal cord, and the cat's temperature is maintained by a rectal temperature controller and a heat lamp. Two steel pins welded to metal blocks are inserted into the cat's hind legs. Some of the muscles and nerves in the legs are exposed so Nichols can stimulate the nerves. Tendons are fitted with small clamps for attachment to torque motors. The posterior tibial nerve is freed near the ankle in both limbs for stimulation. The limb is immobilized using hip pins attached to the stereotaxic frame, and the bone pins and an ankle clamp are fixed to a mechanical ground by magnetic bases. At the end of the experiment, the cat is euthanized with an overdose of pentobarbital. Nichols has published 22 reports about various experiments and 17 other studies including cockroach senses.

Nichols' began torturing cats in 1983 and has received grants from the NIH all
these years. Just the latest grant for cruelty totals $318,431.00.

To date, Nichols' experiment has produced NOTHING to help sick
humans but has enriched the purse of Emory and Nichols. This is a complete
waste of valuable research dollars that should be directed to proven experimental
models, not chicanery.

The FOX Theatre will again be hosting the musical CATS and we are hoping to get as many people as possible on the public sidewalk in front of the FOX to distribute leaflets and let the public know about Emory's lies. Just a few years ago, we distributed so many leaflets that Emory was forced to answer to the public. One of their responses was to develop several web pages explaining how terrific their cat experiments are and they went on to tell the public that Nichols served in the military---as if that has something to do with the validity of this experiment.

Here's the plan:

This is not a protest but a peaceful, legal leafletting. We are going to educate the public about Emory's cat experiments and hopefully place a leaflet in each and every hand going in the FOX Theatre that night. We will have signs available for those who prefer not leaflet. If anyone wants to argue with you or pick a fight, don't waste your time---they are on a mission, maybe they work at Emory etc., and you have more important things to do---like educate people who have an open mind.

Please arrive at the Fox at 6:30pm. There's parking all around or take the bus--whatever is easiest for you. We will continue until 8:00 pm when the show starts. Remember not to block anyone going in or out of the Theatre or on the sidewalk---they always have a policeman there to remind you if you do and he's always nice so don't worry about that. This is a public sidewalk and you have a right to be there. We are always very busy---people are taking leaflets faster than we can distribute them---that's not an exaggeration so your help is seriously needed.

This is a golden opportunity to help cats and educate the public. Leafletting dates are Jan. 17, 18, 21 and 22. That's a Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday so everyone should have a chance to fit at least one in their schedule.

despite the tacky hype, the website has many great references, links and testimonials that validate their claims. I have found them swift and helpful in answering additional queries I've had.
For serious threats, such as HIV, they recommend six consecutive doses over six days. That's only $300. After that even if one does a booster every three months, that would only be $200 a year - for not having to take any day-after-day liver-toxic drugs ... pretty great deal!

A senate bill to rid New Mexico of what has been called "Rumsfeld's Disease" was introduced Thursday by Sen. Gerald Ortiz y Pino, D-Albuquerque, as 15 other senators from both sides of isle also signed on, supporting legislation to ban the deadly artificial sweetener, aspartame.

Linked to Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld for his efforts in the 1970s for putting the sweetener on the market, New Mexico is the first state to consider banning the artificial additive linked to numerous ill-health affects, including cancer.

If passed, no food containing any amount of the sweetener could be manufactured, sold or delivered in Mew Mexico, beginning July 1.

After the bill was introduced Thursday morning, Sen. Ortiz y Pino, appearing on Greg Szymanski's radio show, The Investigative Journal, said he needs support from six more senators for passage if the anti-aspartame legislation makes its way for a vote during the short 30-day legislative session.

The Albuquerque democrat also said the bill needs to be put on the "governor's call list" in order for it to be heard, remaining optimistic since Gov. Bill Richardson has expressed strong concern about the health hazards of aspartame in the past.

"I decided to introduce this bill, despite strong opposition by lobbyists because it is the right thing to do and many of my constituents feel the artificial sweetener is dangerous," said Sen. Ortiz y Pino while appearing on The Investigative Journal.

"I am very optimistic that the banning of aspartame will be passed into law since 15 senators signed on with me to support the bill. I know of one other who has said he join us, leaving only six more votes to get it passed in the senate if it comes to a vote this session."

Besides the senate bill, New Mexico's House of Representatives has also introduced a similar bill, House Bill 202, calling for the same ban on aspartame.

The House version of the bill was introduced by Gallup democrat, Irvin Harrison, who claims the measure, if passed, "means a vital national and international precedent would be set, one which could precipitate a new era of consumer protection in the United States and other nations."

New Mexico resident and Santa Fe art gallery owner Stephen Fox has been one of the main activists pushing to raise public awareness and outlaw the use of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved additive.

Fox and many others trying to ban aspartame have for years been trying to warn unsuspecting users of the dangers, saying aspartame contains "poisonous and deadly toxins."

Before legislation was introduced, Fox tried to get aspartame banned through the state's Environmental Improvement Board (EIB), but after pressure from aspartame lobbyists, postponed any action on Fox's request until July.

The New Mexico Legislature established the EIB in 1978 to handle rules on the state's food and water supply, liquid waste, air quality and radiation control. However, any action by the legislature to ban aspartame would supersede an EIB ruling.

Although the EIB said in October that it had the necessary power to handle Fox's petition, on Nov. 9, the board backtracked, asking in writing for Attorney General Patricia Madrid's opinion on whether state law gives it the authority to regulate aspartame and whether the board could carry out Fox's request to outlaw or put warning labels on products that contain the sweetener. The board has not received an answer from Madrid.

Regarding the adverse health affects from aspartame, a recent report from a highly respected international medical team has now linked the toxins in aspartame to lymphomas and leukemias.

The report by Morando Soffritti "Aspartame induces lymphomas and leukemias in rats" is in the European Journal of Oncology for July, 2005. Dr. Sofritti is a member of the European Ramazzini Foundation of Oncology and Environmental Sciences Cancer Research Centre in Bologna, Italy.

As reported, Dr. Soffritti and his team carefully set the conditions whereby genetically-uniform test rats were treated equally with the exception of being divided into groups given varying levels of the toxic chemical sweetener.

According to health experts, rats are deemed appropriate subjects for testing aspartame on humans because both humans and rats metabolize the methyl ester in aspartame into methyl alcohol, then formaldehyde then formic acid - all deadly poisons.

Neurosurgeon Russell Blaylock, MD, one of the world's leading authorities on aspartame neuro toxicity, extensively reviewed the Soffritti report.

"This study confirmed the previous study by Dr. Trocho and co-workers (1998), which also found the formaldehyde breakdown product of aspartame to be damaging to cellular DNA and that this damage was cumulative," said Dr. Blaylock. "The type of damage was a duplicate of that associated with cancers. These two studies strongly indicate that drinking a single diet cola sweetened with aspartame every day could significantly increase one's risk of developing a lymphoma or leukemia.

"This study should terrify mothers and all those consuming aspartame sweetened products. This was a carefully done study which clearly demonstrated a statistically significant increase in several types of lymphomas and leukemias in rats. Both of these malignancies have increased significantly in this country since the widespread use of aspartame.

"They also found an increased incidence of malignant brain tumors, even though it was not statistically significant. This does not mean there is no association to brain tumors, since ONLY the animals exposed to aspartame developed the tumors. With children and pregnant women drinking the largest amount of diet colas, this puts their children at the greatest risk of developing one of these horrible diseases. Their found that even lower doses of aspartame could cause these malignancies, yet, the higher the dose, the more cancers that were seen.

"Since aspartame can increase obesity and may even cause the metabolic syndrome that affects 48 million Americans, there is no reason to ever consume this product. At the least, it should be immediately banned from all schools."

If you haven't read Kevin Trudeau's NATURAL CURES "THEY" DON"T WANT YOU TO KNOW ABOUT, you should. He's a hideous writer, but there is much much essential material in there. Because the FDA wants him so dead, he's not allowed to mention products, but instead lists several doc friends who do give out the info. I got a great response from the German doc who has the highest rate of cancer and AIDS cures in Euroland. Having not read Kevin, some of it may seem off the wall. One Year

Hi Y'all

So last year, on Dec 7, I was diagnosed with HIV. So I've been getting used to this in my body and mind and heart and so far so good. I chose to go on meds cuz I was feeling like crud and my numbers picked up. I stopped any alcohol, recreational drugs, staying up past midnight. And while I have been faithful to my spiritual practices, I have not changed much with diet or supplements or specific 'healing' techniques.' In the next year, I want to be more proactive in regards to the idea of healing and having balance with my pharmeceuticals.

With others who are dealing with chronic illnesses, what do you do?

Any input would be great help.

Oh, don’t worry, it’s not that hard to do.

However, you’ll not be able to grow a cancer without first establishing the right chemical climate so it can flourish in your body. Back in 1900, only one person out of twenty-five did it. But today, like I said, growing a cancer cell is easy. So easy, in fact, that every other male in this country and every third female will do it during their lifetime.

The chemical climate of the average American is perfect for growing cancer because our bodies have become acid, and cancer loves low pH readings that indicate high acidity. Consider, the national soft drink consumption per person is in excess of 38 gallons per year! It has been estimated that it would take 30 glasses of water with a pH of 10 to neutralize one can of soda. See why it’s so easy?

And we’re not even taking into account all the acid-producing foods served by fast food restaurants, all the packaged, canned, and processed foods found in your local grocery store, or the air pollution caused by too many cars, trucks, and buses. And I’m not even including the harmful positive ions found in the average home. Let alone the acid rock music that seems to be blaring away everywhere you go!

I’m simply talking about the stored acid wastes that you’ve accumulated in your organs, your glands, and even in the layers of your skin. And as they accumulate, your pH continues to change. When you understand pH, you’ll have a powerful tool that you can use to prevent a cancer climate.

The term pH stands for the hydrogen ion concentration of a solution. An ion is an atom or group of atoms that carries a positive or negative electrical charge. pH is simply the electrochemical effect we get when negative ions (alkaline-forming) and positive ions (acid-forming) interact with each other. Basically, this determines your life force energy.

When you experience an alkaline reaction, your body has more energy and you’ll discover an alkaline residue in your urine if you test for it. Remember, any substances you put into your body will leave an alkaline or acid ash residue in the urine. If your urine is consistently giving you an acid reading, you’ll find it easy to grow cancer.

Additionally, if at times you find yourself hyperventilating, it’s because of acidosis. Your body is attempting to remove carbon dioxide and carbonic acid. That’s what’s left from metabolizing food. As the amount of carbonic acid decreases, the pH increases. That means more energy and an alkaline pH reading from your urine. If your urine reads 7.0 or higher on the pH scale, you’re alkaline. Below that indicates an acid condition in which viruses thrive and cancer grows.

People who are heavy meat eaters show higher acid readings. However, this doesn’t mean that vegetarians fare much better by filling themselves with cooked foods.

A healthy inclusion of plenty of organic, raw veggies and fruits will help shift your body over to alkaline. However, bear in mind that your emotional swings also determine your pH balance.

How do you test your pH? Simply by using litmus paper or nitrazine paper, found at your local drugstore. Take samples of your urine in a jar for a 24-hour period, then dip the strip of paper and compare the color against the chart. The reason for all the samples over a 24-hour period is to get an average reading rather than a random reading that may or may not be accurate. You can also record a series of random tests and average out the readings.

Bear in mind, if you’re on an intense cleansing regime, the reactivated stores of acid will recirculate and be picked up by the kidneys to be excreted into the urine. So, you’ll get acid readings while the body is laboring to make itself more alkaline.

Remember, what you eat and drink, as well as your lifestyle, plays a critical role in the pH balance of your body. The bottom line is, if you know how to avoid creating a climate for cancer, you’ll never grow a tumor.

Magnetism

A few years back, I was talking to people who put magnets in the heels of their shoes, or sleep on mattresses with magnets in them. My mother recently sent me a bracelet that's rather gaudy looking, but is magnetic.

I guess it's supposed to help with muscle aches, and also, in the case of the mattress, the flow of the CNS from brain to appendages. I'm not certain exactly HOW this works though. The people I've spoken to seem to get good benefit from magnetic heels and mattresses though.

I have consumed 8oz of my morning mid-stream for a number of years now and, like many an Asian philosopher or royalty, consider this a vital part of what is my ongoing health and vitality. Vegetarians won't find this an unpleasant event at all - carnivores, smokers, drinkers, coffee-drinkers and heavy sugar consumers will have more difficulty.
Living in the tropics as I do, every little nick and mosquito bite can spontaneously infect itself. I have on several occasions cured topical infections that were streaking (like when you're supposed to run to ER) with six-to-twelve-hour poltices of "urine wine".
Best books I've read on the subject are The Golden Fountain by Coen van der Kroon (he's cute!); Your Own Perfect Medicine, Martha Christy; and the classic and very hard-core The Water of Life by Armstrong (in which he treats and cures innumerable cancer and near-death patients with urine fasts).
I've done urine fasts for as long as fourteen-day periods. I regularly pee in my bath - nothing better for the skin than urea, check any high-priced cosmetic. Urine has infinite homeopathic and chemical benefits. I recommend it for welness as well as sanity.

White flour ...

I was utterly shocked to have recently discovered another FDA first degree murder! When I studied chemistry forty plus years ago, they were using a fairly benign bleaching agent to bleach white flour. Now it comes out they have started using alloxan! Alloxan is a poison, the most famous spinners of super oxide free radicals known to science! It is used to chemically produce diabetes in normal rats, because alloxan spins up enormous amounts of free radicals in pancreatic beta cells, utterly destroying them! Aspartame also so damages the mitochondria, that people are then damaged by the free radicals spun off by the damaged mitochondria (premature graying for example)!

The VERY LAST thing we need added to our diet is alloxan , (a well known grievous poison!) which the FDA now has being force fed to us in white flour! (This includes even pasta!) Boy! Is the FDA ever making it hard to get any wholesome food in this country!

Alloxan thus directly interacts with Aspartame to produce multi organ damage, including diabetes and syndrome X! It also makes the poisonings from many other junk-foods far worse, and causes advanced aging (just like Aspartame!) AND, many other DEGENERATIVE DISEASES!

I hope this information helps to prove to the New Mexico Legislature, and to the courts that the FDA is now indeed just farcical, since Rumsfeld in 1981 broke everything decent in our government to put the heinous Aspartame into Us!

Sure glad I eat mostly whole wheat bread! I will now avoid ALL white flour products from this point forward.

Somebody, obviously just wants to kill us!

Essiac Tea

Essiac tea is a classic Native American formula of burdock, sheep sorrel, slippery elm and turkey rhubarb that has treated and apparently cured innumerable cases of cancer (and other things). Some say it is the glyconutrients within the combination, others the monoelements. Who cares, it works, it's cheap, it makes a nice home brew and ritual.
